I have had continuous tinnitus in both ears since August 1982. i find the tinnitus is a little bit easier to deal with if it is not completely silent. I do have anxiety, stress and only sleep 3-4 hours every night. Medication does not seem to help. Streaming has helped when the streamed sound is a little bit quieter than whatever the tinnitus sounds like at that time. I listen to a lot of TH-cam videos like yours and a plethora of other topics. I usually am streaming content 10-12 hours a day. It gives me something to focus on besides the tinnitus. Hearing treatment has helped tremendously.

Remeron/Mirtazapine at low dose (cut 7.5mg in half) will help with sleep. having to listen to streaming sound most of the day to get away from T does not bother you? thats cool if so.

I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember. At 75, my general hearing is failing in an, I suppose, age appropriate manner. I generally fall asleep with a tv or radio playing as it seems to cover up the high pitched whine. As I have had little or no exposure to loud noises (no rock concerts and a penchant for avoiding loud sounds) I believe that it is either congenital or stems from some very early childhood issue. I think that, if I will ever find a solution, it will be in the form of DBS, magnetic resonance or something like that

  • @denkn

I've had tinnitus since I can't remember when. Naval Aviation vet and lots of sound exposure many years ago.
I am under VA healthcare and they fitted me with Phonak aids a few years ago. I immediately noticed a reduction of my tinnitus that continued for several months. Then, it's back.
Having an evaluation by the VA in a few weeks under the PACT Act to see what's up and maybe get a slight disability from it.
So, hearing aids worked for a bit, but came back with a vengeance.
Good information in this video... Thanks...

My tinnitus is very loud some days and some days it's low to very low. I wear hearing aids and they helped me in getting rid that even louder buzzing, crackling, tapping sounds i used to get in my left ear. Nowadays i use a neck pillow as a pillow to keep my ears from sweating. A neck pillow would help those who can't sleep with their ears because of problems.

A warm regards really to the audiologists, and the business lobby who is behind hearing aids are interested in a cure for tinnitus? Could it have a negative effect on the economic income of Otin Lucas and other providers? It's a multi-billion dollar market between holistics, medical and all known devices. I'm sorry but it's an honest thought. Best regards

My tinnitus is somewhere around the 440 Hz range, which is actually the same pitch as the internationally recognised A440 (or simply A4) pitch. I also occasionally hear the same sound as crickets make and first thought I had one in my ear, but it's again a part of the tinnitus. It does drive me bonkers at times.
When I test my range somewhere around the 8000 Hz mark, I lose the sound.

I am 58 and have had Tinnitus for many years. I have always been sensitive to loud noises and covered my ears. My ears are very small like a child’s. Not sure if that makes things worse. The ringing is so high pitched and gets louder when I lay down. I just had a hearing test and my testing was 8200 hz range, and was told I have mild hearing loss but all I could do was use a box fan or white noise machine.

Last year I had a hearing checkup. My main concern for going was because of the tinnitus. I'm retired so I wasn't too worried about hearing people. The doctor said that a hearing aid could mitigate the tinnitus because I would then be hearing tones I had not been hearing recently. However that doctor's office pushed one hearing aid. My insurance company pushed another. Why the hell are hearing aids so damn expensive? With Medicare advantage with the cheapest one I'd still pay $300 out of my pocket. I'm not impressed with technology when the cost is prohibitive to some of us.

I use my iPhone often to listen to music at work or receive telephone calls. I also make adjustments as needed via iPhone. Keep in mind you need a good healthcare provider to be properly fit. I have insurance so the cost wasn’t bad. Yes. Helps. Again, it took one week to get used to wearing it. I only need one hearing aid. You can’t see it at all as it blends in with my hair. I have been wearing hearing aids (Phonak) for about 8 years and 1: they do not provide a cure for tinnitus. 2: I don't even notice a reduction in amplitude 3: the volume of tinnitus changes between soft volume and up a noise that interrupts any attempts to sleep. note: You are advised to remove the hearing aids before bed. Hearing aids are nothing more than very small audio amplifiers. So, I have been searching for a cure for almost a decade, but the filmed attempts to persuade you to place an empty Ginger Ale bottle beside your head next to an ear are nothing but idiotic slapstick humor.
