My father died in 2015..!! after 15 mins of his death I went out for a "super recharge" because I had to inform phuppo, khala, mamu, chachha, etc etc..!! It took me at least an hour to inform everyone of them! some of them didn't pick up the phone & they called back after 3 hours or so & started criticizing that why I didn't inform them on time.. ! I couldn't even talk to these people properly due to the trauma! BUT... the rest of my day spent wandering around the streets in arranging "Tent Wala", "Biryani Wala", etc etc .. this is so stupid! but my mom said, beta... yehi hota hai I still feel sorry to my father because everyone from the family had arrived to read Yaseen Shareef n Faitha but i couldn't spare enough time to sit n pray for my father because I was busy in arrangements .!! Does this make any sense? Yes it does in our society! BUT not to me Sorry!!

This is very common in our country India. If someone passes away then neighbours take care of all key necessities of the family. Neighbours make meals available for them and also help with all possible means. Hindus and Muslims all help each other.
Assalamualykum, as a reminder the sunnah is that mourning is for 3 days and neighbours and community would cook for the mourners during the mourning period. If we all follow the sunnah we wouldn’t have any burden. Our deen is very simple, its us that has made it difficult upon ourselves. May Allah give us Hidaya and guide us to the right path. Aameen!!

I lost both of my grandparents recently , Mostly they were the ones who raised me and everything that you mentioned , that is so true , like most relatives were merely fooling around and i was devastated over this. Ki jihone poori family chalai , unki respect toh karlo...but that is when i got to know kon genuine relative hai aur kon nahi so that time was an eye opener
The day my dad passed away , I was swamped with chores. Next morning woke up and drove to qabristan alone and cried there in peace . Had too many guests at home. The night following his burial in Asr , we visited the graveyard twice in the middle of the night on hearing that the grave keepers frequently sells dead bodies to medical students and others paying bucks for it Such weird memories... I remember one of my Mamo on the day to the death asking me if the company car given to my dad will be returned now and what were our plans for it.

Very inspirational....this is what we do here in canada too...most of us are alone without families and help...after fautgi aur even deliveries, all neighbours divide the days among themselves and send the meal to them.
Junaid Bhai fortunately my Father and some other elderly of our society have made a union so that whenever someone dies in our society the handling of their Families and friends is done by the union including Sitting arrangements and feast ( so called) for 3 days. Last time one of our beloved friend died and we did handle their problems and everything. Hope such things are also among all misdeeds.

In Lahore we have always done it.. whenever there used to be death in our society for atleast 7 days we used to divide breakfast lunch tea dinner in neighbourhood.. I don’t know if it still exist

junaid bhai .... i had faced such situation in the past it was about my friend's grandfather death and i was arranging tent to help as a friend coz mushkil wakt tha un k liay yeh dosti k naty kr dia then next thing i have noticed that there was man who was arranging things as being neighbor so ,and some young guys in my town was be like "yeh inky peechy bhag raha h sham ko usky betOn(son) sy beazit hoga" so i was so bad feeling coz thay person was so nice actually i was helping him so he just told me that you have to hold this and that in following /particular manner and keep this in your mind when you do next time . it was like ohk i would definitely do that same the janazah was 11 pm so and his elder son is in army so we are waiting for him so it was about 12 o'clock in the midnight it was for the first time for me that i am in graveyard at 12 o'clock so i was quite nervous and sitting together with my cousin but that 1 hour chat of our town people was like i can't explain ... literally speaking qabirstan sy zaida un sy khof any laga

Yes, its true, I am from abbottabad. Bhai yahan foutgi waly ghar ko 3 din tak mohally waly khana provide karty hain, (3 days tak foutgi waly ghar me chulha nhi jlaya jata,) and jo b log afsoos karny aty hain, uko bhi khana dety hain. 3rd day ko bara khana hota hai jis me sab rishtydar waghera aaty hain, aur wo b kisi family member ka mohally walon ki taraf se hota ha.. Phir har thursday duaa hoti hai aur khana hota hai 40th tak, wo family waly dety hain 40th ko bhi family ya mohally me se koi duaa karwata hai aur khana deta ha. I wish k esa karachi me bhi ho..

Yahan log is chez ka thora bhut khayaal rakhty hain. Even qabr tak tyaar ho gae thi hamaien bata dya gaya tha k everything is ready. Its really a time when aik insan apni lowest stage par hota hay.

Sahib e haisiat log 1 time ka Khana apne zimme le lete hai Jaise 1 banda lunch karwata hai sabko, koi aur dinner. Ye to waqai bare sharm k baat hai k banda gham mein hai aur plates etc arrange kar raha hai. 1 dafa aisa hua tha k lunch time mein rishte dar apne gharo ko 2 3 donge salan le ja rahe the jab k Khana sabne nhi khaya tha. Le Liya wapas us se k pahle mehman khaenge phir ghar le jana. Aise aise stories hojate hai k Bas. Chaple chori hojate hai kabhi to. Sometimes kamra chota hota hai aur apne rishte dar 70% space Pakre hote hai aur mehman hairan k kaha bait k fateha Karen.

Very inspirational....this is what we do here in canada too...most of us are alone without families and help...after fautgi aur even deliveries, all neighbours divide the days among themselves and send the meal to them.
Junaid Bhai fortunately my Father and some other elderly of our society have made a union so that whenever someone dies in our society the handling of their Families and friends is done by the union including Sitting arrangements and feast ( so called) for 3 days. Last time one of our beloved friend died and we did handle their problems and everything. Hope such things are also among all misdeeds.

Phir har thursday duaa hoti hai aur khana hota hai 40th tak, wo family waly dety hain 40th ko bhi family ya mohally me se koi duaa karwata hai aur khana deta ha. I wish k esa karachi me bhi ho..
