Man this woman has been such an inspiration in my life. I wear #5 because of Dawn, I'm from the Cleveland, OH area and when she was in the ABL playing for Richmond my AAU team coach would take us to the Columbus Quest games. One game my cousin Shanika and I faked sick lol so we could get to the court after the game to meet her. She didn't want to sign autographs or really want to be bothered after they lost but when she seen us fake limping acting like we were sick just to get autographs and hug her and show her love she was cracking up. Years later when she was at Temple, she sent me a picture of her holding my Miss Basketball News clip and she signed it to recruit me. Keep Inspiring Us Dawn 💯

Dawn Staley a basketball legend whether male or female. I have been watching her since she was playing at the University of Virginia. She was the epitome of floor general and a pure point guard she is the reason why I started watching women's basketball her, Jen Azzi, Katie Smith, Teresa Witherspoon, Sheryl Swoopes ,Teresa Edwards and Rebecca Lobo. I'm glad she is getting her flowers now as a player and as a coach. Glad to see Stak giving her respect because she definitely put in her time blood sweat and tears and it is well deseved
Growing up I knew Cheryl Miller was a monster on the court, but I never got to see her play. Dawn and Cheryl Swoopes were my favorite players to watch. Super amazing players.
My niece just turned 11 yesterday n for Xmas n her bday, all she wanted was basketball gear. She just started playing w/her school. Played football last year and I HAD to send this to her so she can see not only the work/passion that has to go in, but someone who looks like her explaining her story. Thank you 🙏🏾
