As a pastor, I tell my congregation that if you don’t take care of yourself, than you cannot take care of others. That means in evangelism also. We won’t be able to spread the Word, unless we are well. Our bodies (life) is a gift. We have a responsibility to take care of the temple which is our bodies. Not for vanity reasons but because we are grateful for what God has given us in our bodies and in our lives. Taking care of yourself is SO important. God would want us to take care of what He has created. Great discussion. I hope your mom’s auto immune disease is taken care of. They are horrible to have. I have one. Nutrition and rest is key. Thank you for what you do in Christ.
Yes!! “Honor your father and your mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ”(Matthew 19:19 MEV). In order to love and take care of others we should love and take care of ourselves. Not to only love myself but to share that love with others. Also taking care of your body can be a reflection of what is inside our hearts just like the way you would carry your self from the way you dress, talk, or walk.
Yes! Eating healthy is a huge part of the Christian life. My family is vegan and I can feel the difference between when I eat healthy and when I eat poorly. Love you guys! -Presleigh Pina
As a introvert sometimes I find the only thing that fills my cup is having alone time to recharge. But all of the tips talked about in this video are so impactful & important also! Being outside and exercising greatly help my mental health and spending time with a friend is also a blessing. I believe it is also important to mention that we should seek Jesus to consistently be our cup and portion and fill us because nothing else ever will sustain us like Him! Thank you ladies for always the best videos and advice
Loved all these tips. Quiet time, being alone and being creative fills me up like no other. Working out and eating whole foods made such a big difference in my Christian walk. I neglected my body for a long time and I did not realise that I was not honouring my body well. Thank you so much for making this video and I 100% agree that self love doesn’t always have to be selfish. Jesus has a body and we have one too! I did my dissertation on biblical anthropology- tracing Paul’s theology of the body and it’s relationship to Christian formation. I came to the conclusion that the body and growing into Christlikeness is inseparable. it blew my mind after 7 months of intense research I realised how much I neglected my body. So keep spreading this 🧡🧡 Also when Taylor said that pets secretly love you even if they run away from you gives me hope that my bunny truly loves me. Lol. Another thing that fills me up is listening to solid sermon. ❤️❤️❤️
What fills my cup Is listening to music and listening to rain noises with my headphones, It keeps me relaxed and encourages me to talk to God or just be quiet resting In him❤️.
Wow! I was just about to have my first self care day today in months, but was feeling guilty about it when this video came up in my TH-cam recommendations. You guys are truly sent by God and so inspiring!
I'm a great grandma and I just want you to know that watching and listening to you both has been a real blessing. May God give you peace, joy and love. Love Nana Pam
For anybody that needs to hear it: self care isn't always facemasks and tea. Self care is also forcing yourself to get up and exercise or take a shower on a day when you dont feel like moving. GOD is always the best answer and he wants us to take care of ourselves so we can help people the best.
One thing i love to do that I havent been able to donfor years beca3 of being homeless is take a nice bubble bath with candles and worship music and worship the Lord. This worship lasts for hours. Even when the bubble bath is done I dry off and get dressed still worshipping the Lord and even then I stretch on the bathroom floor and dance and cry woshipping the Lord. I cant wait til I can do that again!!!
The pets bit! Love how your cat was trying to get away and you were like "love me!". I love animals myself, so grateful to God they are our companions here on earth.
I like how you guys always look at each other while talking it’s like to get validation 🥰🥰❤️😹 Journaling ❤️❤️❤️ I never actually thought that self care is wrong because I just thought of it as eating healthy foods, exercising... taking care of the temple of the Lord and refilling your cup with the Holy Spirit... ☺️☺️ thanks you guys 😘😘
I'm trying to make it a habit to include God in my workouts. Whenever I do this, I'm learning so much and it's healing my distorted views on body image.
Taking the time to REST is so important. I have noticed that when I get caught up in "I HAVE to do this" or "I HAVE to do that"...I get caught striving and trying to EARN God's love. One thing I love to do is; Sit down with a hot cup of tea and listen to sermons! If anyone is interested, here are some of my favorites: Carter Conlon David Wilkerson Robert Clancy
Ladies this video is truly helpful and very much appreciated :) I am a 19-year-old and I was raised in a Christian household and I worked at a Christain based summer camp last summer which was truly amazing. However, this past year my faith has taken the backseat in my life and I'm now trying to get back into it. I found your channel this past week and it has been amazing in helping me to get back on track with my faith as well as helping me to be more confident in myself. I've also been looking at your website which has helped me a lot as well. I just wanted to say thank you for all the work that you do and for inspiring everyone who watches your channel. Keep being yourselves and being amazing, you've truly made an impact in my life :) I hope you have a blessed day :)
A friend of mine recently asked me speak words of encouragement to her 13 year old daughter on her birthday. I came across this channel. All I can say is that your parents are highly favored by God, your passion for Jesus Christ is so authentic. May God bless you and keep you, make His face to shine upon and be gracious to you.
Self care is very important. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and must care for ourselves and be a good steward to ourselves to what God has entrusted into our HANDS. Cleanliness is godliness, sis .
I think self care is good but earthly things are dangerous so stay focus on god and pray so you can star in a good line. So yeah guys do your things but keep god on top, he is the savior of every of your situations and he wants good things for you. Try to always stay in the good line with the help of God that he gives you daily. I Iove you guys !❤️
Thank you so much for this! I watched another Christian youtuber's video about self-care and left feeling guilty for wanting to do self care. Thank you for showing that it's okay to do self care as long as it's God approved and done the right way. I like reading and walking as a form of self care. Prayer and Bible time too.
My self care loves are....Reading. I love a good Christian romance. I love reading/studying my Bible.... when the weather is nice, I love to sit on my porch, while reading. And I also love journaling, whether it be on my day or doing my Bible journaling (I write in a actual journal for my Bible journaling about what I’m studying).
gardening fills up my cup. turning over the soil, planting the seed, watering it and then singing happy birthday to baby sprout when it pops through to the surface. getting a harvest and saving seeds is also so rewarding. it’s such a fruitful and joyful process being a plant cheerleader/mom.
You two are so cute. Yes You are His Princesses. Not just young ladies need to hear this but women who are elderly. Each and every female needs this. I was taught this was selfish.
What I do to take care of myself is to keep clean, cleaning my room, bathroom, other rooms in the house and also organizing. It helps to reset your mind so u can think clearly in other ways. Taking care of my body and keeping it clean (my hair, body, face etc). This helps me so I feel fresh and can take on the day. Also being healthy (eating healthy foods and using healthy/ natural projects). It’s good for my insides and my outsides and makes me feel great!
Great video ladies! Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and if we take care of ourselves we’re better equipped to fulfill our God given purpose in the Earth.
Thank you for this word, thank God we are able to take good care of ourselves within his strength! In accordance with ephesians 5:28-29, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I bind myself, my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, neighbours and the body of Christ to take good care of oneself while looseni g oneself of hating one's own body, loosening myself of every unequal yoke and common share with those who lack tobtake good care of oneself, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
Niru Subba to inform you Niru when you talk about God the creator or the Lord make sure you use the Capital G when talking about God and the lowercase g when talking about a false god or some other god Anyways God bless you Niru💜💜
Thank you so much for speaking out about this! As a mom, I am guilty of forgetting to do this but I know my kids need me whole and healthy. God bless you girls 🥰
This video is gold! I completely agree with everything you guys shared, and I hate when Christians believe self-care and self-love is selfish because there is definitely a way to do both and honor God. He is the one that fills our cup and I think our self-care and self-love is how we bring forth our cups to Him.
I love this video because I am currently focus on loving me and caring for me from a healthy perspective and not a selfish way. For awhile I thought it was selfish to take time to self-care but over the years putting others first have really left me drained broken and defeated. No more to that, I'm learning to truly love myself first (filling up my cup) through Christ so that I may reciprocate that love unto others ( loving others as I love myself, pour unto others from a full cup). I love because He first loved me. I love how yall discuss caring for our bodies not just making time for ourselves and God but our bodies too, to take care of the temple that God gave us.
This was really awesome and inspired me to commit more intentionally to some of the activities and practices you mention like creativity, going outside etc. also, can I just say, I love how you guys weave a testimony of how God has moved or how you’ve grown out of an unhelpful habit. You guys let God shine light on what others might cover up, and that gives me so much courage and reassurance. I’m sure other viewers feel the same! We don’t have to hide our darkness from Jesus, and he wants us to care for ourselves just like He cares for us. Please keep it up😁☀️🙏🏾☮️💟✝️
I just found you guys on TH-cam like a few days ago...and you are truly a blessing. I have looked through your channel and blog and wow! God is just using you to show me what it’s like to be a single woman in Christ. I praise God for you everyday. Please keep the content coming up! ♥️
I love how you girl's justified self-care in a God centered way and not something we should feel ashamed of but to use it to glorify God! God bless you girls! Xx
My self-care tip is to get least 7 hours of sleep and not to feel guilty about sleeping in during the weekends. I have also tried to intentionally set aside time for me to do the things I want, instead of things related to my priorities. This video came just in time because I have just realised a few days ago that I need to do self care. Some Christians would argue that self-love is wrong, but I do support self-care because we are simply too busy with our lives. Self care allows us to stop, be recharged and glorify God.
God bless y’all! The apostle Paul ( which was used by God) said that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. As a Christian we are supposed to take care of our bodies because God gave it to us and it’s His! It’s bad to do self care when you’re only focusing on looking attractive or trying to make yourself more pretty when you already are :) God wants us to take care of our bodies, but remember that ITS ALL TO HONOR AND GLORIFY GOD!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻NOT US!!!
Our bodies are not ours. We steward the body in which God created wonderful and unique. As stewards, we must take care of our bodies because it is something God gave to us to care for.
Our bodies are the temples of God therefore taking care of it is important as long as you don't do it selfishly but for Gods glory, loved all the tips. I have a faith channel were l also share health tips because l believe for us to be able to do what God has called us to do we need to be physically healthy. Love your channel and the way you too talk, so humble. God bless you ❤❤
Totally agree that self-care is important. I've also experienced burnout from going not stop without taking time to rest. Self care is not selfish but necessary so that we can recharge and truly be the best versions of who God created us to be. Also really important to mention that self care has varying aspects and it requires us to take an active role in preserving mental, emotional, or physical health. Self care is also individualized, so what works for someone else may not work for you. Some questions I often share with others to consider as they create a self care plan or kit are: What helps me calm down and relax? What exercises help me feel centered? What kind of pampering leaves me feeling refreshed? What items make me feel comforted? What are things that make me feel inspired? Thanks again for addressing this subject:)
Thank you for the wonderful self care tips. I am glad to say that many of them I engage in. But so many people do not. Thank you for being transparent and sharing your journey of self care.
Feel like God just smacked me in the face with this video! I'm feeling very defeated. I am a single mom and care for my grandma to. Listening to you I realized I've been eating junk and not taking walks like I was. Tomorrow is the day. Thank you young ladies ❤️
Such great tips and I do believe that it's very important to self care so we can better care for everyone else around us! ♥️🙏🏼♥️ I started journaling in January and I forgot how much writing really helped me process every day life. Prayer time is a huge self care key for my mentality as well as exercise and that doesn't have to be anything crazy! Just a nice long walk and I'm good to go! I must incorporate the creative tip more because I loooove creating art and I just don't make time for it! Thank you for this video! I love love loved it!♥️love you girls! God Bless You
I was watching some of your old videos and I just realized how much you guys have grown spiritually and in your sisterhood especially Taylor😊. I feel so jealous ( in a good way 😊😅coz I'm a single child 😣😣😣🙄 like really single) you guys are Soo amazing. I also think that many young people should try learn from you guys a lot!! Good Job👍. thanks for being the Christian role models for us as viewers. God bless you guysss..
Ok, this video was SOOO good!!!! I loved it SO much!!! One of the things I do for self care is spending time alone, maybe watching a TH-cam video or practicing music.. Anything of the sort! I love worshiping God in music!!! God bless you Ashley and Taylor! 💕
Thank you girls so much! What a great video! You are such an encouragement to everyone on here and you guys are so fun! God Bless you for all you do💙 Keep those great videos/vlogs coming!💙😉
Thank you so much for this video❤️ I love to worship and that’s what really fills my cup up just to listen to worship music and pour my love upon Jesus❤️
I've seen a few perspectives on yoga for Christians. Google yoga for sports and you might find something to do. Be careful with it. As with anything, I believe it's a heart issue. Pray about it. The Holy Spirit will convict you if it's wrong. Yoga was invented to be closer to Brahma (a pagan practice) and each position is to do that. However, Christmas is also rooted in paganism, but I believe as Christians we have taken it back and made it to be something to glorify God. I personally do yoga from time to time, but I try to make sure that I do it for stretches and movement rather than for "self improvement" and other things that could lead to idolatry (having a better self promoting image/finding my worth in how others view me). I hope this helps. Pray always and let God lead you. Remember, nothing can replace your value in Christ.
I really enjoyed watching your video. I totally agree with you when you said taking care of yourself is essential to loving God and loving others as well. My religion (Islam) also places importance on caring for our well-being too. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, your own self has rights over you, so fast and break your fast, pray and sleep." Let me share three out of the many ways Islam teaches us to care for our well-being, 1) Islam teaches us how to overcome our negative feelings. One negative notion of the baser self is anger. If we’re not careful, it can render us destructive towards our surroundings. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “If one of you is angry while he is standing, let him sit down so his anger will leave him; otherwise, let him lie down.” Another emotion that can consume us negatively is jealousy. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Lurking towards another is the diseases of the nations before you. Envy and hatred are razors. I do not say they shave hair, but rather they shave the religion. By the one in whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you have faith and you will not have faith until you love each other. Shall I tell you what can affirm that for you? Spread peace between yourselves.” 2) Islam teaches us to take care of our physical health. Our Prophet (PBUH) warns us about the danger of gluttony and teaches us the alternatives on how to overcome it, which is limiting our portions. He (PBUH) said, "There is no vessel which the son of Adam can fill that is worse than his stomach, for it is enough for him to take a few bites in order to straighten his back. Yet if he is unable to do so, then he may fill it with a third of food, a third of drink, and a third for his breath.” Islam also places great importance upon our cleanliness, as stated in the Quran, “And Allah loves those who seek to purify themselves.” 3) Islam teaches us to preserve our relationships with people. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "I guarantee a house on the quarters of Paradise, a house in the middle of Paradise, and a house in the highest part of Paradise for one who gives up arguing even if he is right, who gives up lying even while joking, and who makes his character excellent.” Another way that Islam teaches us is to exchange gifts, as this will only foster affection between one another. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Give each other gifts and you will love each other.” However, Islam advocates that we exercise caution with who we build our relationships with, as not all are good for us. This means we have to prune away unhealthy and negative relationships. The Prophet’s companion said, “A righteous companion is better than being in solitary, and solitary is better than a bad companion.”

God bless you ❤❤
I love that she loves Milena 🥺
Wow!! This is something I have been working on lately!!

Thank you for the wonderful self care tips. I am glad to say that many of them I engage in. But so many people do not. Thank you for being transparent and sharing your journey of self care.
I love reading and meditating
Feel like God just smacked me in the face with this video! I'm feeling very defeated. I am a single mom and care for my grandma to. Listening to you I realized I've been eating junk and not taking walks like I was. Tomorrow is the day. Thank you young ladies ❤️
Thank you guys so I will definitely with God's help and my commitment follow this routine

Awesome video! Watching you both & your mom fills my cup & I love to sit back & listen to worship music! Definitely fills my cup too!❤🕊❤
Such great tips and I do believe that it's very important to self care so we can better care for everyone else around us!

MUCH LOVE TO YOU !!!! 😍😍😍
Love the video!! Can u make a video on if yoga is bad and what stretches is okay to do?
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, your own self has rights over you, so fast and break your fast, pray and sleep."
Let me share three out of the many ways Islam teaches us to care for our well-being,
1) Islam teaches us how to overcome our negative feelings. One negative notion of the baser self is anger. If we’re not careful, it can render us destructive towards our surroundings. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “If one of you is angry while he is standing, let him sit down so his anger will leave him; otherwise, let him lie down.”
Another emotion that can consume us negatively is jealousy. Spread peace between yourselves.”
2) Islam teaches us to take care of our physical health. Yet if he is unable to do so, then he may fill it with a third of food, a third of drink, and a third for his breath.” Islam also places great importance upon our cleanliness, as stated in the Quran, “And Allah loves those who seek to purify themselves.”
3) Islam teaches us to preserve our relationships with people. The Prophet (PBUH) said,
"I guarantee a house on the quarters of Paradise, a house in the middle of Paradise, and a house in the highest part of Paradise for one who gives up arguing even if he is right, who gives up lying even while joking, and who makes his character excellent.”
Another way that Islam teaches us is to exchange gifts, as this will only foster affection between one another. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Give each other gifts and you will love each other.”
However, Islam advocates that we exercise caution with who we build our relationships with, as not all are good for us. This means we have to prune away unhealthy and negative relationships. The Prophet’s companion said, “A righteous companion is better than being in solitary, and solitary is better than a bad companion.”

Self care is sooo needed in this season in life!! We are the temple of God so we should take care of it. Btw your hair looks great!!

Accepting Christ as your Savior is the first step to ultimate self care. Self care is not selfish care
