- 5 YEARS living on a SAILBOAT in the ISLANDS, 2 YEARS of that on an old PRIVILEGE CATAMARAN as we RESTORE HER to her former glory. Sometimes the constant movement and sailing life challenges have become overwhelming. When they do, we've learned to sit in one place and take a breath for a minute. My dad built me a boat from free plans out of Popular Mechanics magazine when I was supper young. Then I got a Naple Sabot and started taking sailing lessons and racing. Then I got a Laser and then got a Tornado catamaran, Nacra 6.0, Nacra 5.8 and now I'm looking into getting a Cyber 48. Youth sailing is the best place to learn how to sail. You have to have good teachers to get really good at it and win races.

When I was in Germany, France, and Switzerland, I was very surprised, no matter how creative the desserts were, not very sweet. But, Germany had the best alcohol infused desserts and since you are in Saint Martin, especially the French side, hunt down a "baba rhum" A delectable liquor infused delight. I first had it in the late 60's and it is my first choice.

Oh my I would freak out in parrot ville. I have like an irrational fear of birds. Theyre fine from a far but when they are landing on me?!? NO WAY!

My great uncle kept racing pigeons, his flat cap was like concrete. Not as nice looking as those Parrots.
