That's very true. Unfortunately, there isn't a perfect solution with carpet or any type of flooring. There are pros and cons to them all. With carpet, sometimes you have to pick what is most important and go with that.
How do I know if it’s made well? When you say a little bit longer, how much longer will the nylon last for? I would want a carpet that is looking good for at least 7 years but don’t need it to last 15 or 20 since my style will likely change.
Please talk to your local flooring store. They will be able to help you. Without you standing in front of me with a sample, you really can't explain that - carpet is a touch/feel sort of thing. That is why it is best not to buy it from the internet or with a photo, you have to touch it.
When is it comes to stain resistant, does the color of my carpet influence whether I choose Poly or Nylon. For example, if my carpet is brown should I choose Nylon since stains don't show as well in that color. What do you suggest?
Stains are definitely more apt to show up in lighter carpet colors, so if you did a brown color a stain would be less likely to show for sure. Not knowing your exact situation it is a little tricky, but if you choose something super light/white, you will probably have some issues keeping it clean. :)
The problem is that the rooms that get used the most and have the most traffic, are the rooms that also get the most stains.
