    Man, thank you so much for focusing on these type of books too. This is why this is my go to channel for graphic novels.

    Those Vampire Hunter D books are great. I also want these books in hardcover. I own a few of the regular volumes of the books. They’re just all over the place. So I’m glad for these omnibus Edition so I can get a chance to read some of the stories I missed.
    Wish BPRD came in Library Editions.

      I agree, I wouldn't mind paying some more for a hardcover. At the very least, a table of content and at least a black-and-white image of the other covers? I'm glad I get to read em but Dark Horse, put some effort into em.

    I am so getting We have Demons and BPRD. Great to see some smaller books get overviews.👍

    Featuring an appearance by Astonishing Melanie! 😮
    Since I'll never get those hardcovers, I'm just now pre-ordering my copy of Usagi Saga, Vol. 7... the last "Saga" edition I still need. I have all but three of the original Fantagraphics/Dark Horse trades, but it is nice to have a more expanded release. Hopefully with Sakai going back to Dark Horse, they will consider releasing more deluxe hardcover releases of the Usagi books again.

    BPRD omnibus are currently being rebranded as volumes 1-10 which is cool.

    Edgeworld was great. Definitely Firefly meets Deadwood. I also really enjoyed We Have Demons. The halo vs horn concept is great

      Yes, that will be in the HCs video. Almost done, but Berserk 41 came in.

    No! Don’t break Omar. Just hold out until they’re 16 or driving.
    I just raised 3 step children. We kept phones out of our lives until they were able to drive. It was great. That’s what we’re going to do with out other little ones as well 😅

    That's a new Usagi cover. I feel like Dark Horse needs more faith in their IP. A soft cover is fine but let's look at what Marvel did with Conan and Alien and Predator. Some hardcovers might sell better than you think. Especially the Vampire Hunter D ones. Like no effort went into them.

    Vampire Hunter D is the greatest of all time. Fantastic dark fantasy/sci-fi/post apocalyptic series. Also! Huzzah for Joy Operations! I just finished reading that myself, and I really enjoyed it.
    Melanie: I recommend checking out The President's Vampire series by Christopher Farnsworth, and the many, many Cosmere (Mistborn, Warbreaker, The Stormlight Archive, Elantris, etc.) books under Brandon Sanderson. Both authors aren't overt in describing details, so you may enjoy those novel series.

      I did too. It was unlike the noir Bendis that I’ve been reading lately.

    Omar, have you ever got into the 'Spiderman: Web Spinners' series? The artwork started off a little rough in my opinion, but it's getting much better.

    Also Omar: I really liked this Bendis book.

    Not a fan of the panel layouts they are so small on that twelve percent dread book , the art looks fine but the panels uh

    • @needfoolthings
      @needfoolthings 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have to read it first to be certain, but I'd wager the artist wanted to draw you into the story by showing you the disconnection between environment and you because of technology. You focus on panel by panel, ignoring time fades or small changes that through regular comic storytelling you would read more fluently.

    • @ComicSwag
      @ComicSwag 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@needfoolthings it maybe but I still feel like it's to many panels in one page on some of the pages & also what makes for the smaller letters

    • @needfoolthings
      @needfoolthings 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ComicSwag Have you read any Chris Ware? That's conciseness in many panels. I'm recommending him to you because most likely you'll like it. It might be the empty spaces between the panels that bother you here. I absolutely agree on lettering being the decisive context for if this style works or not. Most storytellers in comics are underrated and most pinup artists are overrated.

    • @ComicSwag
      @ComicSwag 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@needfoolthings it could be the large spaces inbetween as you said . Pin up artis are important just like the 80s movie posters it gets the customers attention but you're right about story telling artist can sometimes be overlooked kus there style isnt the most flamboyant but there story telling can be masterful. I think its kus style u notice imidietly as for story telling you would actually have to read the book to get a feel for what the artist is doing , I talk a little bit about that in my latest video
