i rode hyperia earlier today, it absolutely destroyed my expectations, the airtime is like nothing ive experienced before, and that first drop alone is absolutley insane. It is more than worth the hype imo

I think Hyperia is a great example of the shift to "quality over quantity" in terms of layout, we've seen that with a lot of RMC's recent coasters.

Rode Hyperia on opening day and omg I was speechless I couldn't even scream and it was like time stopped

Yeah I rode gwazi and then the next ride I got on was hyperia. I think they are quite similar I’d maybe give gwazi the edge, but by a whisker, just that death roll does it… but They are different things. They are both brilliant. The massive elements are swoopingly awesome, it’s very large powerful and smooth and fast and bonkers. Gwazi is big relentless bonkers run away train rather than what feels more like aerobics in an aeroplane with hyperia. Stunning inversions. Imagine it would be in my top 10 but I’ve only ridden those two top tier coasters. It absolutely smashed mako, which is a gorgeous ride.

riding it next week, i think it’ll be #2 for me (i’ve done rth)
but yeah, a ride being short doesn’t mean it’ll be bad. if it had any more insane elements, it would probably be too much for some people, examples being the news reporters having panic attacks on it, lol. plus considering how much the splashdown trims needed to slow it down for it to not give riders whiplash on the outer-banked hill, it would probably crawl through any extra elements.

I was also wrong about Hyperia, though maybe for the opposite reason. I thought this could perhaps be a 10 out of 10 but the ride is super rough and has terrible restraints that kill all the airtime after that awesome first drop. I would say it’s an 8 out of 10 because the drop is that good but I only did 3 rides on this thing before getting the worst headache I’ve ever had.
