OMG I WANT TO SWIM WITH THE MANATEES! I saw this place on Tik Tok a while back, and immediately put it on my long bucket list. So jealous you got to experience it twice! I am so loving your video content and love of life. I was so excited when I had seen the title of this video ad I had to immediately click the link .lol. Yall were in my neck of the woods with the manatees. I had been doing Manatee tours in Homosassa Springs for years. Although that was not my occupation, I just love sharing what I love to do hence my Germany channel :). I love swimming with the manatees. also, I am originally from Ocala and that is where 60% of my family is from. It was so awesome seeing yall there. I also absolutely love walking around St. Augustine. I loved the faces that yall had made in the wax museum lol lol. I have really enjoyed yall and your channel so much. I used to live in Flagler Beach about two blocks off of A1A. I miss that wonderful little town. Since your parents live there I’m sure you have been to High Tides. If you haven’t I recommend it. I am assuming it is still there. I guess I should have checked, lol. Great videos. Going back and watching ones that I missed.

Yes, unfortunately due completely to humans not able to give manatees rest and space the incredible back springs is closed most of the time now during the Winter when manatees are here. Everyone coming needs to make sure they know the rules: myfwc.com/education/wildlife/manatee/viewing-guidelines/ BEING NEAR MANATEES Look, but don't touch manatees. Also, don't feed manatees or give them water. If manatees become accustomed to being around people, they can alter their behavior in the wild, perhaps causing them to lose their natural fear of boats and humans, which may make them more susceptible to harm. Do not pursue or chase a manatee if you see one while you are swimming, snorkeling, diving, paddling or operating a boat. Never poke, prod or stab a manatee with your hands, feet or any object. If a manatee avoids you, do not chase the animal for a closer view. Give manatees space to move. Avoid isolating or singling out an individual manatee from its group and do not separate a cow and her calf. Keep hands and objects to yourself. Don't attempt to snag, hook, hold, grab, pinch, hit or ride a manatee. Avoid excessive noise and splashing if a manatee appears nearby. The manatee may be resting and may surface without being aware of your presence. Noise and activity may startle the animal awake, which may put it in harm’s way if it is frightened and leaves the area. If the site you visit allows in-water activities near manatees, use snorkel gear and float at the surface of the water to passively observe manatees. Yes, unfortunately due completely to humans not able to give manatees rest and space the incredible back springs is closed most of the time now during the Winter when manatees are here. BEING NEAR MANATEES
Look, but don't touch manatees. Also, don't feed manatees or give them water. If manatees become accustomed to being around people, they can alter their behavior in the wild, perhaps causing them to lose their natural fear of boats and humans, which may make them more susceptible to harm.
Do not pursue or chase a manatee if you see one while you are swimming, snorkeling, diving, paddling or operating a boat.
Never poke, prod or stab a manatee with your hands, feet or any object.
If a manatee avoids you, do not chase the animal for a closer view.
Give manatees space to move. Avoid isolating or singling out an individual manatee from its group and do not separate a cow and her calf.
Keep hands and objects to yourself. Don't attempt to snag, hook, hold, grab, pinch, hit or ride a manatee.
Avoid excessive noise and splashing if a manatee appears nearby. The manatee may be resting and may surface without being aware of your presence. Noise and activity may startle the animal awake, which may put it in harm’s way if it is frightened and leaves the area.
If the site you visit allows in-water activities near manatees, use snorkel gear and float at the surface of the water to passively observe manatees. The sound of bubbles from SCUBA gear or other devices may cause manatees to leave the area.
