I've seen Tom a number of times, but him doing this song solo and acoustic and absolutely filling the room without a mic at the Blacksheep Inn in Wakefield is seared into my memory forever. It still sends shivers down my spine. So glad someone captured it, so glad I stumbled on this video today. Thanks!
When he gets together with his brothers Stephen Fearing and Colin Linden and their band Blackie and the Rodeo Kings it's as good a show as you'll ever see.
I’ve known Tom Wilson for years - teenagers toting cheap acoustic guitars around everywhere, bonded thru Willie P Bennett. He played this song for me in the green room at the London Music Club around 2003. Bob Lanois (Daniel’s older bro) played harmonica, too. It was around the time of The Shack Recordings record. It’s burned into my brain. I play this song frequently and love it, but not QUITE as effectively as TW. He was already sober by then - a new man - my wife, daughter and her boyfriend and me got an incredible impromptu performance of a TW classic - one of his very very best! Great vid - first time I’ve seen it! Tom! - you ROCK! Peace
I just had the pleasure of seeing this incredibly talented artist. I had even more pleasure when Tom and I shared a smoke and had time to chat. Thanks to Tractorgrease Studios for the invite....chilliwack, October 2013
when you do you will find that you have met such a wonderful dude. Ive had the pleasure of hanging out with Tom a half dozen times over the last 25 years, I love him
Just heard this on the radio 2 days ago...it has been forever! Such a good song, I had to stop what I was doing and learn it. So easy. A G D, middle is Em A G. Hope Tom is still rockin the hair!! I am 58 and still rockin' mine...no real jobs, or haircuts for me. Planning a channel of my own and I will definitely be doing some JunkHouse
Awesome tune and musician (great man and home towner). Lived that way for 15 or so years and the video (band) reminded me of many things about hammertown. My grandmother (whom i only met once at age 4 lived on Bold street and rests without a marker- sigh). Have got to learn this and post when I can in tribute to all that is good in Hammertown.
I love his songs. I have always just played guitar in bands. Recently learned this song. I use it to practice my singing. Feels so good (physically also) to sing and hit it in key. Wish I had tried years ago. Thanks Tom.
Hey Junkhouse fans?! I'm looking for sheet music or tablature of the Fuzz album by Junkhouse... any ideas? I'm actually precisely looking to learn #1 Joy Ride off that album. Gracias!

I hope you got to meet him. I did a couple of years ago and it was a real treat.
I met him at Kitchener Blues Festival a couple of years ago. I was moved by our conversation. What an awesome human being!
