So let me get this straight (and take a seat because we’re gonna be here for a while)
The original version of Treasure Tracker is a direct prequel to 3D World, which explains why he appears in the game. But both the 3DS & Switch versions of the game retconned this, making the game take place just before Mario gets to Sand Kingdom (theoretically). To be fair, that also explains why C. Toad is in Odyssey (though it doesn’t explain how he gets to the majority of places he goes to). But then the Switch version throws a curveball and gives us DLC that gives a reason for how the Super Crown was found. That implies that the NSMB games are in the same canon as the 3D Mario games, as this would likely mean CTTT is a prequel to both Mario Odyssey and NSMBDX on Switch, just Odyssey on 3DS, and SM3DW on Wii U. The real question everyone who’s played all 3 versions is asking is which one(s) is canon to the main timeline.
All that to say Matpat better be taking notes.

Betty Brown i haven’t made the whole plot recently but I know what the beginning of the story. It happens started like after the special episode of captain toad and it’s before the Mario U Deluxe game.
And yet, you don't turn into Peachette. Missed opportunity.
Plot twist: captain toad is the prequel to all MARIO games and toadette is the first peach that we know and love today
My theory on the Super Crown's origin:
Peach's parents (the King & Queen because I see them as humans) created the Crown to prevent his daughter (or any future queens) from being kidnapped. Unfortunately, Prince Haru heard of it's great power & as heir to the Flower Kingdom, he attacked the Mushroom Kingdom without mercy with help from the Koopas. However, Sarsaland (& probably the Yoshis) drove back the attackers, but the King & Queen were wounded badly. As they lay dying, they told a younger Toadsworth to raise Peach as they intended & train her in fighting. They also told him to lock away the Super Crown to prevent Haru from getting his hands on it. The Crown was locked away for (let's say) 24 years. On the 25th year, the Toad Brigade found the Crown. A week after the events of U Deluxe (& training from Toadsworth), Toadette explains to Peach about the Crown & Toadsworth tells her, the Mario Bros, the Toad Duo, & the Brigade about it's origin.
So in conclusion…
CT’s TT is canon to 3D world or Odyssey and canon to NSMBU DX
