- Its time to talk PlayStation Trophies once again and this time I'm looking at the trophies where the grind was real! These are the stories of the hours of boredom/pain/suffering I endured for the sake of trophies.....time well spent right??

I can't help myself with collectables - I'm like a moth to a flame haha
I know I'm late, but as someone who played 200+ hours of Dead Rising 2 I can say for sure that you don't need to kill all those zombies in a single playthrough. I just kept playing and playing, and getting different endings, saving survivors... You just load your completed save, and it'll still count up.
And my nightmare of a trophy is the "Requiem for a Killer" from Batman Arkham Knight... I spent HOURS trying to not get hit so that killer croc would appear... HOURS. But I got it. Better than the trophy for Hard Time Attack from Shadow of the Colossus (PS3 Version)

hey my worst was in rdr2 called "grin and bear it" where you must kill a bear 18 times after it had attacked you. imean comoooon 18 times of repeating the same killing the same bear in the same place with save and load mithod that was boring like studying😅

Tomb Raider was a great game with a horrible multi player. I did that grind 2 times.
Uncharted 3 I had 2 TVs, and 4 controllers and I did manage to get 100% on the game.

All The Gears in Just Cause 3 was annoying as all hell, especially when some challenges were literally broken.
At least it wasn't as bad as Just Cause 2.

it took me 1 whole month of grinding just for this trophy . i want to quit but i love the single player so much . i played the single player campaign like 3 times got all the trophies and i want the plat for it and 100 % completion
after i got it i was done . no more shit multiplayer grind any more for any game
I actually got them all relatively fast. Joined a group who were all after the same thing and got all the difficult ones in 1-2 hours max. As For the SP i literally finished it the first time with the game telling me I 100% completed it.. just came natural I guess as I'm an avid explorer.
i think the tomb raider multiplayer grind was what finally broke me. (thank god i was younger when I i managed to do red dead redemption and assassins creed brotherhood, no way I would deal with that shit now)
I did get this Tomb Raider MP trophy too. It is actually the rarest trophy i got. The worst grind ever....
I actully almost went insane trying to get plat in Yakuza 0. There was this minigame called mahjong, which I didnt actually know how to play. Most of the times when games have gambling trophies I try to cheese them, like in poker just go all in and hope for the best :D, but you coudnt do that in mahjong, so I literally learned the game somehow and then I just prayed for the RNG gods to get the requirtments for the 100% completion list. I actually remember, that it took me a whole day just playing mahjong. But in the end I earned the plat an was very proud of myself :)

I know poeple who download mahjong apps on thier phone to win in yakuza.
these are the main reason why I don't go for the Plat on the Yakuza series, I'll just go unlocking the trophies I'm able to do and leave it that way. thank god I'm not the type of person that wanted every game on my trophies list to be 100% or this will going to be a Huge Pain to bare.

@Nour Ch download a mahjong app on your phone. Put it on the hardest setting and imitate the moves on yakuza.
That Tomb Raider trophy is so grindy I don't have a kill/death ratio, I have a 2 round per podcast ratio.

Red Dead Redemption 2 trophies are so stressful...

After getting the platinium, the gold medals were not the thing stuck in my mind...the black jack challenge on the other hand...OMG....hours upon hours waiting on that 5th card x 3...hate randomness. In the missions you were at least able to improve yourself to get them right
it’s studying and skinning all the animals i think are the toughest
mirrors edge on the PS3. it made me ragequit more times than i can remember on the speedruns but for some reason, after a few months, I kept going back and begging for the luck needed to get through. 3 years later I got the platinum and I want it engraved on my tombstone.

Yes tomb raider getting to lvl 60 was a grind as the multiplayer servers were dead but you could deliver 20 med kits to the enemy base over and over again. That was tedious but got there eventually.
PS3GamingScotland I had to mute the tv and listen to something else because I couldn’t deal with hearing “Ive got the med kit!” 5 hundred times

The tomb raider i'm refering too is tomb raider the definitive edition released in 2013 and the first game in this current rebooted trilogy. Shadow of the tomb raider which is the most recent/ final game in the trilogy has no multiplayer but is due to get 7 pieces of dlc though.
Online/Multiplayer trophies are the worst
Doom 2016 became quite the grind for 100% completion if you waited for the DLC to go free. Once it went free they implemented level/prestige requirements to unlock the armor you needed to wear to unlock the trophy. "Beauty is Pain" was the highest level one. That was a good 20-40 hour grind during double XP in MP depending on your skill level. Potentially longer if you weren't lucky with the RNG for the challenge to unlock it at Prestige 8 I believe it was. At least Doom's MP was a lot of fun, despite me not being very good at FPS's any more.
The FF15 Comrades MP expansion was really grindy with nearly 80% of your time watching loading screens. I hated every DLC and added content for FF15. What an ongoing grind that game is to keep it 100%.
JRPG's can be so grindy. I don't have these on my PS4, but FF3, FF4, and FF5 on Steam were awful trophy/achievement grinds. Easily 150+ hours. FF3 and FF5 had one where you needed to max out the every job/profession for every character. FF4 had one of the worst RNG grinds ever to get gear needed to beat the trophy-related optional super boss that you could only attempt on your 2nd or 3rd playthrough. I also remember having to do an extra playthrough because I missed a treasure or undiscovered part of the map in a missable area at one point. Ugh! Final Fantasy trophy/achievement lists are just awful in general.
Damnnnnn these sound rough!! To get the Doom plat I had a glitch happen with the challenges so had to delete my save and play the whole game again. It wasn't too bad but I was pretty mad! Thanks for watching and sharing those grinds.
Tekken 7: 10 Hit Combo. Took me a year to get that, finally got platinum. 160 hours of Horizon Zero Dawn to get 96% and platinum, I can't even think of going back to beat it again in ultra hard mode. Soul Calibur 6 stays at 94%, I can't unlock Legendary Arcade Mode, my skill only goes so far. Beating Libra of Souls TWICE to get good and evil endings (I got the good one) proves that my patience only goes so far.
My biggest grinds:
Just Cause 3 - I hated the challenges so much, and you had to score a perfect score on all of them.
I didn't feel proud nor relieved in the end, I just felt like I had just wasted too much time.
Battlefield 1(100% grind): I unlocked all 19 Tsar weapons by myself, took me like 40 hours just to get those 19.
Luckily, I found people with the other weapons required for the other DLC trophies and we just exchanged them. It would've taken me 80 hours otherwise.
Demon's Souls: Farming for upgrade materials, SPECIALLY for that damn Pure Bladestone!
I think those are the grindiest games I've Platinumed/100%ed.
I do have all the GTAs and RDRs games, but I also hate multiplayer so I don't know if I'll ever attempt those platinums.

I gave up on red dead redemption 2 because one of my trophies was glitched, i was already 60% done with trophies but the one glitched is required for the 100% completion.
GTA 5 and lV are the only gtas with multiplayer on so the older ones you can platinum easily

the last trophy i need for the rdr2 plat is getting to lv 50 i . the online its has been the worst and most boring grind ever but im so close so i cant give up now wish me luck

My Kung Fu Is Stronger from Mortal Kombat is definately the biggest trophy grind I've completed.
The last blast shard I needed in infamous was the one that blends in with the water, so it's easy to miss, at the end of the broken pier. I went around the map like 5 times, but I found a video suggesting the last one you might've needed and it turns out to be true.
The worse grind I did was rank 5 in max payne 3, where the fastest way to do it is replaying chapter 4 over 600 times. Took me 7 days of around 8 hrs a day or grinding. Red dead redemption grind took about 4 days to rank 50, replaying pikes basin gang hideout.
Luckily I didnt have to go through the gta 4 rank 10 grind because I entered a hacked deathmatch and got over 2 million dollars into my account by the end of the match, and great enough it was all I needed for the wanted trophy. I was already at rank 7.
Another grind was resident evil 5, replaying the part with those weird lizards in the hallway, to collect their hearts to then sell them, to make enough money to buy and upgrade all weapons.
Yet Another grind was from gta vice city, for that cannoli trophy, where you have to have a specific accuracy percentage and have to start new game and collect about 50 hidden packages to unlock a certain weapon if I remember, to then tape your controller down and leave it shooting at a crate for hours.
I got dead rising 2 72000 zombies kills trying to get 200.008 kills in dead rising 4 now
My hardest trophy I’ve ever gotten was probably Uncharted 1’s Crushing trophy

Just Cause 2 was a grind, but I loved just flying around in the chopper destroying everything. So, it wasn’t too bad.
For multiplayer it was The Last Of Us that I hated. The grind ruined the fun of the MP for me. But, it was worth it because the platinum for the game is still at 0.5%.
Ohhh yeah - I did kinda enjoy the little meta game TLOU mp had but the pressure did get real in those final weeks =O

Trails of Cold Steel has a bronze for playing the game for 100 hours. I started playing in September and I'm in Hour 65.
This is one of the more straightforward trophies in the game, btw.

I lost a big chunk of my sanity trying to plat Dark Souls 3. T only trophy between me and the plat was the one that wants you to give a certain amount of items to the various covenants or something and there are only 2 ways of getting them: pvp which i hate and RNG drop from enemies which i also hate but less than pvp. I killed hundreds of dark knights and another hundreds of other enemies but in the end i prevailed.

Watch out for Yakuza games, the grind on them is no joke!
I don’t know about you, but the “Local Tourist” trophy in The Crew is the most grindable that I ever did. It requires you to visit 242 places on the map
The worst trophy grind I had to deal with was in God of War, challenge of the gods. The 10th challenge almost caused me to blow out a blood vessel.
I'll take your 350 blast shards and raise you to The Amazing Spiderman "On The Fly" Trophy with its SEVEN HUNDRED comic book pages to collect as you swing around the city. Seven fucking hundred fucking comic books lying around the city for you to collect during your journey. And, lest we forget, with great Platinums come fucking hideous collectathon grinds that add nothing to the game which, surprisingly, was quite an enjoyable affair considering the less than amazing movie (the sequel was utter shite both in movie and video game form so thank fuck for Insomnia) Anyway, back to said comic books and it was the middle of Summer and it was sweltering hot in that way that only British Summers seem to achieve. That heat which brings all the whiners out of their whinge holes and onto our streets in a maelstrom of complaints, beer bellies and sweaty arse cracks. But not for me, though I may once have been guilty of the latter. Nonetheless, I had decided to stay indoors and sacrifice my much needed Vitamin D for a sweaty spidey swingathon that would garner me that elusive trophy even if I finished up as a slightly pathetic puddle of sweat on my bedroom floor. And so there I sat picking up comic book page after comic book page and thinking it didn't seem too bad until I realised that taking into account the ratio and general mathematical mayhem of things of COURSE it'd be easy at first as the map was quite small and were SEVEN HUNDRED of the flappy bastards scattered around. Many (possibly sweaty) hours later with perspiration pissing down my face like a mini Niagara Falls I'd collected about 100 yet still believed in my heart of hearts that the elusive 600 would be a breeze (which would at the very least have brought the shitting humidity down a notch) yet I believe it wasn't until the early hours of the following morning that I stared at the screen through bleary eyes and witnessed a miracle beyond anything some second rate deity could muster up as a familiar sound reached my ears and the trophy popped like a virgin's cherry on prom night. Was I dreaming? Hallucinating? Had I slipped into a coma somewhere betwixt reality and my trophy list? Had I finally succumbed to The Reaper and was standing before the Pearly Gates where an angel held aloft a Platinum Chalice that let off an incandescent glow that shone throughout heaven and onward to the stars above where other life forms stared back, squinting and wondering which arsehole species had left the fucking light on again? Had I ...
... actually no, I'd just finally found the last page and got the trophy as it turned out which given the infinite possibilities left me feeling rather pathetic as I readied myself for bed in the knowledge that I'd wasted nearly an entire day picking up virtual pieces of paper in order to attain a virtual trophy that nobody really cared about and one that, alongside its bronze, silver and gold brothers and sisters would, one day, be nothing but dead data floating through the ether with nowhere to go but round and round like a flushed turd into non existence and possibly beyond. And, to make matters worse, it was at that point that I remembered I'd bought a Cornetto that morning and had become so engrossed in the web slingers trophy triumph that I'd left it on my side table where it now resembled little more than a chocolatey, creamy, sticky, gooey mass not fit for anything. Though I think I still ate as much of it as I could ...

I just did the Infamous Rockhound trophy. So many hours of searching... When i was 11 i got the game for free when the ApocalyPS3 happened and managed to get to 98%. Never got the platinum on that old account, but I'm finally going to redeem myself

Man I know the pain of dead rising 2 I spent around 2 weeks trying to get the multiplayer trophies and another week for the 72 k zombies cause game crashes constantly resetting progress :(
My hardest and most well deserved platinum trophy is Batman the telltale series as it has a lot of skill (😂) joking, it’s actually the last of us just because of the multiplier and bcos I only really started to become a trophy hunter a few months ago and I ended up getting the 100% trophies on the last of us ps4

As you were describing a game with an unnecessary multiplayer mode and a grindy online trophy list, I was also thinking of Tomb Raider (2013) before you even said it! Yeah, the grind was real, haha, though I actually had some fun with the multiplayer at times, when lots of people joined.
haha I love that the Tomb Raider mp has an infamous reputation!
My worst grind was definitely killing 800~ knights in dark souls 3 in order to farm the proofs of a concord kept (or whatever they are called) 🙃
Side effect, i made so many souls from it that I basically capped every stat.
Also, the collectibles of AC Unity, it was basically like infamous, just way more than 350.
Well I don't have the internet at my apartment so...for three weekends I took my tv and PS4 to my parents to grind to level 55 in multiplayer for Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag. I played the Wolfpack mode over and over and over again solo because it gave me the highest score the fastest way. Three weekends. At the end of the final day I had such a migraine. Never again I said. But got the Plat! Last of three trophies I had needed.
And the hardest.
Final Fantasy VII had the 99,999,999 gil trophy. Took like three hours grinding magic pots. They gave out the most gil. Got the Plat!
Death Stranding - Great game and has grinds. 'Maximum connection level with all facilities.' & 'Reach Grade 60 in all delivery evaluation categories.' They took a while but totally doable.
Right now - - I have two annoying DLC trophies for Doom. Need to level up a lot to wear the Cyber-Demonic & Robotic Armors. Those two net you a trophy each. I'm at 95% total, but this time I'm not in a hurry. :D

Last week, I did NFS Payback. Collecting all the chips and getting a three star rating in all activities was horrible.
Days before I grinded in [PROTOTYPE] to get the 53.596 Kills Trophy...
Those blast shards in Infamous 1 were a complete headache for me, especially because I had to re-platinum the game on my side/main account 3 times and once more on my main/side account. I'm glad that headache is over with. And then...there's Sonic Unleashed and collecting every Sun/Moon Medal on top of leveling up that Werehog's stats to 99😤😤😤😩😩😩

Worst grind though. Call of duty mw2 beating the bx time. OH MY GOD IT TOOK HOURS. now I've moved onto titanfall 2 gauntlet top 3.
I would gladly want to get uncharted 4 platinum as my 10th but i don’t have ps plus and it has MULTIPLAYER TROPHIES
Tomb Raider was so tedious. Finally figured out alternating collecting medkits and salvage each round.
Currently tackling MoH: Warfighter, and basically only need to reach lv 73 (at 35), as well as 20 kills with each weapon (15/72). When nobody is on that, I am self boosting Riddick (150 more wins and done) and Far Cry 2 (have manuals left for 8 weapons, and need about 45,000 xp to reach rank 20 - until I do the derank glitch to reach rank 30). Once I knock those 3 games out, I am gonna feel pretty damn good.
I respect women who are not afraid to let out there inner love for gaming out,,, but I shake my head at the title of this video and every sentence said within... especially "a couple of platinums in your time".... biaaatch (said in Dawkins voice) X-box achievements are the pioneer of this shit you made a video on, not only that but gave way to a great many more things... Achievement Hunter/Rooster Teeth for example, would not be a thing without the 360, years before the PS3 copied the .... (and let me call it by it rightful name) ... Achievement System. Also , for a bonus, although subjective, the sound of the Achievement popping - Other wise known as Bleep Bloop (a phrase coined because of it) just sounds better and gives the sound alone an almost magical feeling.
Here look, I don't necessarily mind Trophies for the PS3, it helps to merge and advance gaming (just as I like when Call of Duty took the Theatre Mode from Halo) it's just that my grievance lies with you and others not giving a nod to where it began.

Please, the NITRO trophy in rayman origins haunts me.
It's my only remaining trophy and it requires you to have speedruns in your bloodstream.
You need to beat every level PERFECTLY without dying, so in the later levels it is almost impossible.

Grid 2019 was probably my worst grind platinum. The game is very easy to platinum, it just took me about 100 hours . Had to drive the entire distance of the world.

I'm surprised well I'll be that guy lol you have very cute feet and I love coming back to watch your videos it motivates me to trophy hunt, I just got the Brawlhalla Platinum today and it was a *BIG* GRIND the one trophy was get 100,000 gold and each game free for all game was 3 minutes long and you'd get around 28-38 gold depending where you finish in the match.. so um yea I've still got "welcome to brawlhalla" echoing in my head at night in bed haha
Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag currently is terrible. 5 multiplayer trophies (ugh) 3 are easy, the last 2 stressful. Reach level 55 and play with every ability and ranged weapon, on every map and gamemode? Oh, did I mention the multiplayer has like a playerbase of 3? Great video once again by the way!
My worst grind was God of War Challange of the Gods trophy on PS3. You had to do all 12 challanges in one go, because there's no options to save the progress as it was in later games

My worst grind ever was from Shadow Warrior 2 where you had to get 1,000,000 orbs in a certain challenge mode when you and only get 360+ orbs on the hardest difficulty. It took so god damn long.
I got the Rocket League platinum last week. Got all except 1 in about 4 or 5 hours at most. The grind came with the very last trophy Stocked which you need to collect 150 items. I finally got the last item to get the trophy and the platinum after 43 hours, so an extra 38 hours or so for 1 trophy. The grind was because since it went free to play you don't get an item after every single match anymore. So you have to just play matches until it unlocks. It can take 6 or 7 matches to unlock just 1 item. And each match starts at 5 minutes long but every goal stops the timer. So depending on how many goals are scored it can increase each match by 2 or 3 minutes. Multiply that by 150 and you have a grind. I know it isn't a skillful grind given you just need to play the matches, but still had to grind through game after game.

350 Blast Shards or 400 Mark of Honor? Damn, those Marks took me a whole weekend to get Platinum for Code Vein. I agree, MP trophies in single player games are pointless or atleast put them in separate trophy list.
Lol I can't believe I actually predicted you were going to talk about Uncharted 3 and AC 3. Thank God I have 100% in Uncharted, I'm grinding solo the Tomb Rider one and I haven't touched AC 3 in a while (really slow and boring game)

E0NS3RV0 XA The Uncharted 3 one spoken about in this video is the PS3 version with Multiplayer, which sadly can no longer be achieved since the servers were closed some time back 😢 Brutal mode was stupid imo to even of been thought of by Bluepoint, the games were not designed for it, I have the platinum for the remastered trilogy but not the Brutal modes, although I have tried them and failed them. I am glad though that I am not the only one who is relieved that 100% sync is no longer in the AC franchise.
Dynasty Warriors 7 for PS3. I had to use a second controller just to cut the time in half for using ALL of the characters to unlock the voices and weapons.
Worst RNG grind to me was Monster Hunter: World. MH games are rather grindy and that's ok but getting all small and giant gold crowns for all monsters is overkill. I remember myself actually gauging monsters in comparison to my character before killing them to make sure it was "worth it".. Fun times :)

Black ops 3 combat simulator on realistic difficulty. You tought the campaign was hard on realistic, try this fucking wave simulator without hijacking drones because sometimes you died after self destruct it when you were done.
Also plated evil within 1&2, not that hard tbh classic mode felt harder than akumu 'cause no checkpoint and you needed to plan well how to spend the saves.
I am kinda late but I am now going for the injustice 2 platinum which requires you to get all characters to level 20 (there are 30 characters) and there is a trophy where you need to get an ability which you can get out of packs and is purely based on luck or you just gotta have 50 hours played with a specific character (also need to play 200 online matches but doesn't sound as long as the other ones)

I devoted a summer to getting 10 platinums, but tbh they are pretty meaningless. None of my friends really care and they don’t really offer any reward other than knowing I sank hours into a game doing stuff I wouldn’t have normally done to get the platinum in the first place. The more trophies you get, the closer you are to that platinum, but again, it’s all just a way to get you to play for longer than you normally would have.
I’m very proud of the ones I have, but I don’t think I’ll be pursuing many more in the future. Only if they are for a game I really like, there is no multiplayer trophies, and they are not going to be ridiculous to do.
The Last of Us remastered Firefly and Hunter multiplayer was so tedious. Love your videos Lucy!
