Personally, I interpreted it like the creature had found her already and was just touching her slightly to try to identify her, she thinks it’s her skin moving(for whatever reason) and then she gets eaten for making noise
Honestly did not expect the freakin analog to make use of something that looked like from the movie “the Thing”. Literally my heart dropped knowing the dogs and Charlotte are doomed. God I need some time to lay my eyes on some animal videos just so I don’t think about her fate

GREYLOCK is an absolutely phenomenal analog horror. They just have such a great way of giving you fake comfort, providing sudden unexpected scenes and just overall make the viewer unsettled to the core!
This is horrifying. All the same, I feel like Jim is now going to pursue these creatures to their extinction. Without his daughter, and with these monsters taking away everything else he loves, he has nothing left to lose. I want to see Jim win, and I want to see him _destroy_ these things.
the first time it appeared around 17:50 is legit my favorite. it looks like a 3d image of a creature running through real life. especially since its so lanky and taking long strides. i watched that part like a dozen times because i loved how the visuals were
I don’t think she was kidnapped, I think she was assimilated into one of the miner-type monsters and is now unrecognizable
24:31 maybe the “tall man” described by Paul Morelli in his voicemails was this thing stalking the crew in the woods, because he did sound genuinely terrified when he said they “saw it” later on.

could the blob of Charlotte and what seems to be the dogs all fused together be connected to the fused babies in the missing child incident?
If not, the babies are simply a cryptic nod to what is happening to people like Charlotte. Overall well done series because of how these things all connect at the right pace to heighten suspense

*Possible spoilers/predictions* The Jim that is mentioned is the private investigator that had been mentioned in Tape 8, and also the investigator shown in Tape 10. Charlotte is his daughter who went missing after the incident shown in this tape. I am not sure if Jim is just now being shown what happened to Charlotte just to mess with him or what. It could also be that this happened due to Jim's investigation about what is happening. In any case, it is still amazing storytelling.
What unlimited power do these things have, making doors disappear is so insane.

You know what another awful thing is? If you think about Charlotte's attempt at hiding, and then you go back to Section Two, and go to the third set of words, it literally describes the situation. She was terrified, she was screaming, she was running, she was followed. However, I don't think she was hiding. I think this thing knew where she was the whole time and was just playing with its prey. Think about it, she was making so much noise before and during the time that that thing was in the room with her. It was able swipe her flashlight out of her hand, but didn't decide to keep up the attack? These Thoughtforms are being created using strong emotions and the Extractor. The tape in the beginning even says that it wants you to be "frightened," and "vulnerable," which is what these Thoughtforms end up doing to people. Making them feel frightened and vulnerable, they're sadistic. Even going back to "Trojan Technologies," where the girl Katie meets her fate. That monster shouldn't have had to lure her in with kind gestures. It chose to do that.
So back to the original point, the word that doesn't belong in Set Three is "Hiding." Charlotte was visible to this thing the whole time. Good game, thanks for playing, ma'am.
the thing about the dogs "just standing there" creeped me the fuck out more than anything else really lol. i know animals are animals and they'll do...animal things that don't make sense to us, but when your pet whips around and just starts staring into the corner unblinking for 3 solid minutes it's always gonna be freaky. sometimes my old dog would look at me in this really odd way that always made me expect her to just open her mouth and start speaking human words
also the amalgamation monster at the end is the coolest thing i've ever seen in an analog horror. it just...looks great too, effects-wise. damn
If your dog could speak: "Hello dear master, forgive my rudeness but I must request extra ear scratchies and more bacon bits. Or I'll be forced to bury the Television remote in the back yard".
The Dog Hybrid thing is a reference to the 1982 The Thing. And for an analog horror series they did a damn good job with it.

Wait, Minaxa said that Sigmund freud said that when dealing with your shadow or your unconsious via focusing would literally have your Shadow living beside you at all times, and coupled with the fact that forcibly created thoughtforms are hostile monsters that looks like they came out of nightmares, instead of naturally created thoughtforms who are like familars of sorts.
God help the people of the Greylock universe.

I've seen tape 012 when it came out, I've literally couldn't sleep at all tbat night and doesn't that ending reminds me of the movie "the thing" a bit
The thing at the end recorded by the officer was Charlotte merging with her dogs. Thats why she said she feels like her skin is moving. Remember Tape002 where the hikers found an animal corpse with a human skull? Thats Charlotte. There are 2 perspectives in Tape002; The hikers and Jim Melgren's. I also remember a member of the Greylock expedition team quitting his job and inbetween the interview bits there is a newspaper article that said "Corpses dropping out of the sky" and that is what happened to Charlotte after she merged. Somebody contacted Jim and told him about Charlotte's remains and its proably the same person who later lead him to the dead rat with a tape inside. The symbol shown at the beginning of the "rat tape" is the exact same as the one on Tiffany's body after she died. So it could very well be the "Tall Man" communicating with Jim.
Theory time:
I think the "Skelly Man" is the Tulpa of Tiffany's shadow-self and is a completely different entity than the masked "Tall Man" from Mt. Greylock ( For example: Skelly can talk, Tall Man can only imitate speech). SimioDyn created it and i believe that this entity somehow threatens the Tall Man. This is why i think the Tall Man is communicating with Jim; To make sure SimioDyn does not create any more Tulpa's. So the Tall Man is somehow protecting people from Tulpa's (Or what people thought where ghosts and demons and stuff) and thats why they offered sacrifices to the Tall Man in the mountain. Now the Tall Man is angry because no sacrifices + SimioDyn found a way to produce Tulpa's. Did i mention i love Greylock?
PS: This whole episode is from Jims perspective; He was watching the instructional video cassette + the surveilance footage. Thats why its mashed together.

that scene where the doors and windows dissapeared was horrible for me, when i was younger i would get a reoccuring nightmare where i would get trapped in a dark room, and i couldnt for the life of me find the door that i entered from. so seeing someone in a very similar situation in this series hit REALLY close to home for me

Playing Persona 3 Reload while watching Baz watch something that brings up Jungian Psychology is like, peak media consumption.
I think Jim is the one viewing the archives, and remember, everything we're seeing is everything in the archives. So what I think happened was, Charlotte was part of the whole thoughtform experiment program thingy, so she was assigned to watch the tape. She watched it, but I think the neurolink visor thing is actually a portable version of the Thoughtform Manifester. So when she went through the exercises on the tape, she was inadvertently creating a thoughtform. Then, some time later, the thoughtform she made found her and turned her into the monster at the end. The events of the home invasion were taking place after she had already used the tape. Now, Jim is watching the TF tape trying to piece everything together, and something is altering the footage to taunt him, showing him how she died.
BAZ sure is a great guy and always brings a smile to my face when I watch his uploads.

Ok im gonna say this theory here, thought forms and the entity are 2 different things. The entity lies in everybody’s deepest subconscious, and appears as a tall man in the door that appears in familiar memories when induced. The reason I believe that the entity has been worshipped secretly is because, it has been stated that all cultures have attempted the creation of thoughtforms, and those very same ones must have been the ones that went to greylock mountain because of that drumming in their mind to make them go. The reason it may not be documented is because of the fact that the closer people get to it and discovering it, the more it will attempt to hunt and kill them, like with the anthropologist.
Thoughtforms come from a similar place but do not occur without stimuli and have been repeatedly stated to be unable to hurt people, but still interact with physical objects, hence why during the moment the thoughtform had do use the door, and instead of attacking initially ripped the flashlight out of her hands and seemingly ran off, which also means it cannot change reality and still has to interact with the world normally, therefore cannot have been the one to make the doors disappear.
Now picture the fact that when the doors and windows disappeared, she, in a panic, fled to the nearest unfamiliar room and LOCKED THE DOOR. There was no sound of the thoughtform entering through this door, meaning there must have been something else on the other side. That something being the entity, who is the masked man we see, as it toys with the victim, and when the time comes to attack, it mimics her voice to sound like her own, probably confusing and scaring the poor woman and whoever was on the phone.
So the entity uses thoughtforms, to scare people half to death. But why? Because during the test it says that opening the black door requires forgetting the good characteristics of yourself and betraying your moral code, which the test also states that panic, fear or coercion can make people forget their morals in order to survive.
Also it’s important to note 2 more things, the entity must have been the one to change Charlotte, as it’s been known to use this tactic before, on the miners, it made their food rotten, made them deathly sick, harassed them for weeks, and what I believe was the invisible thing was it using a thoughtform to scare them into going into greylock mountain to be transformed. Also transformation appears to be a difficult thing, as transformation only occurs when the entity is in its own domain, it only turns people into monsters if it’s within the caves or room, any other time it has killed people. I think that perhaps that door that people see in their mind, and in charlottes case in reality is actually a gateway to the tunnels of grey lock mountain, especially considering how loud the echoes were when she was taken.

I know it’s not true, but sometimes I feel like the only person who thinks Shorts are ruining TH-cam…..like I will be looking for actual videos on stuff and the search results are just full of 20 sec clips and I hate that so much lol…….but I know they help with the algorithm but I don’t know it all just feels so forced and when I want to watch a video I want it to be more than a minute long. like it’s so obvious that this is just TH-cam’s attempt at leeching off TikTok hype just like reels, but at least TikTok and reels feel like they have their own place on the platforms instead of just littered around randomly like here…..just my perspective tho lol
