He was suffering from withdrawal, Max Cavalera from Sepultura told in an interview that Kurt called him in the US from Brazil asking if he knew anyone who would find heroin for him, and Max told him he was out of luck because there was no heroin in Brazil. Nirvana played both São Paulo and Rio, and the gigs were one week apart, this footage was from the Rio gig, so he was at least 7 days here without heroin, fully on withdrawal mode.
Guitar playing is about expression, of how you feel about something or everything - Kurts guitar playing was complete perfection in that sense - more so than most other guitarists.
This is the best Love Buzz performance I've seen. Krist's bass opening and solo, Kurt's guitar sound/playing/vocals/cigarette break, and Dave's usual ass-kicking of the drum set are all awesome. I really like this entire concert, though some consider it their worst.
