    His father was absolutely right -- she had the resilience to get through it. That said, fairness says her brother now has the resilience to get through it.

    READ THIS!!!!
    Mum and Dad always favoured my brother. When I got really sick, they refused to co-sign for a loan to pay my medical bills, because they were funding my brother his 'fancy vacation home'.
    They then requested that I give half of the inheritance that I received from my Grandparents to 'fund' my brothers lavish lifestyle.
    I said no!
    There, really didn't need 48 minutes of listening to 'well maybe Mum and Dad did not realise how much I needed the treatment', yes they did and they didn't care!

      It's because those who cut the target off think: (1) it will never come back to bite them, or (2) their target will eventually cave to their demands. Unfortunately for them, sometimes one, the other, or both happen.

    WHY DIDN'T they sell the vacation home when they could?

    • @juliemcgugan1244
      @juliemcgugan1244 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can’t sell it if the mortgage is not yet paid off on it and the parents want OP to bail him out, because they were co-signers…they will be the ones on the hook for paying off the remaining mortgage, after the bank takes the house back and sells it again!

    • @karenbrown1485
      @karenbrown1485 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@juliemcgugan1244 Of course they could have sold it, mortgage or not. When the property is sold, the bank gets whatever amount is still outstanding then the seller gets the change (if any!).

    • @Solitaire001
      @Solitaire001 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@karenbrown1485 That's what I was thinking too. It's only a matter of how long it takes to sell the place. I would think that if you need the money immediately take out a loan and then pay the loan off when the home sells.

    having a vacation home is almost the same as having a second home in costs,, mortgage payments, house full of furniture, utilities, property taxes , house insurance, high maintenance costs, lawn maintenance, high costs of entertaining guests......the list goes on and on... people who are in a good financial situation do this....not someone who can not keep a job for long?

    She should have have commented on her mothers facebook post by saying where was all this family help when i was buried under medical debt that you wound help but had the money to buy my brother a beach party house? And all she had to say to her parents is if he can’t afford then maybe he should work harder or sell it, because the only money he would get out of me is the same amount of money you helped me with when i was sick

    "Family is family".. that's interesting, where was this "family" when op needed help?.. be wary of people that only remembers you're family when it's convenient... they are NOT family.. they're just people you so happen to share the same DNA with.. family is not just about blood.. that is Tom's family, not yours.. family doesn't just take.. family is not one sided.

    "I'm sorry to hear about your situation-it sounds incredibly frustrating and hurtful. It's difficult when family dynamics create feelings of inequality, especially in matters as serious as medical needs. I hope you're able to find support elsewhere, whether through friends, extended family, or a professional counselor to navigate these emotions. Everyone deserves fairness and compassion, especially from their loved ones. Wishing you strength and better days ahead!"

    Honestly i think AI is broken. It's the same story every time. I'll run through it for you so don't have to waste 50 min of your life.
    OP was second best to her brother all her life
    OP is responsible while brother is not and parents help and focus on brother while OP is struggling
    Months/years after being ignored parents ask OP to help golden child financially.
    OP finally grows a backbone and says no. Parents get upset
    OP cuts off communication with parents so now OP is "ungrateful" and parents deploy family members OP hasn't talked to in years.
    This goes on for a few months
    During this time brother may or may not reach out
    It'll end either with or without contact
    Oh and let's not forget someone's smile didn't reach their eyes.

    Understand that no is an acceptable answer to unreasonable requests. Hell no if you are truly pissed. Make certain they have no access to it at all. If they asked for a portion of it then they would eventually ask for it all. If they want me to figure things out then not agreeing to anything they ask is how you figure it out.
