wonderful manodharma ,excellent rich voice, sincerity and commitment in handling the raga. Very nicely rendered. May God bless him with many many more musical years.
Before the rasikas enjoy the music, the artist should enjoy while singing and this is revealed in all Abishek Raguram kutcheries. Very well done and God bless all.
i know Im asking randomly but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Cole Zev thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
An excellent job by Mannargudi Vasudevan, adapting thavil to this concert however the fault lies on the part of organisers of this concert of bringing thavil in the name of novelty, thus denaturing the grand instrument, called thavil. Thavil is meant to happily blast off with heavy percussion and muting that to suit this concert is a fault of whoever came up with this idea. It made it to look like playing Mrudangam on thavil. But thanks to the top quality expertise of the performers, this bungle is sustained. Pleasure to watch M Vasudevan perform. In an unfettered environment, he would have done even better. My two cents. Botched combination, best performed and covered up. Oh, by the way, sponsors' banners are not big enough... There's still some aesthetics oozing out despite the best effort of the banners. LOL
Good singer , but in excitement sang in “ Swara - Prastara”used like “ smgmgrsn, smgmgrsn” in higher actives . I am wondering , because Hamsadwani - Ragam having only “ SRGPNS- SNPGRS”.as Arohanam & Avarohanam. How one can use Madyamam. I don’t understand. Sahityam( lyrics) here as “ Nirantaram Nikhila Chandra khandam” Sree mudduswamy deekhitar composed I think. But he sang “ Nirantaram -Nitala Chandra khndam. Regards. Radhasrisailam.
Coming to the usage of swara 'ma' you referred to, it might have sounded like 'ma'. But it is 'pa '. One has see the swara sthaanam. If one doesn't know the swara sthaanaas and doesn't know the sound of swaraas, such comments are made. Secondly reg the lyrics, both the versions are sung and we don't know which one is the original.
When you go with the intention of enjoying the music small errors are eclipsed by the bliss of music and lyric. Good try to include Tavil to vocal with Sri Vasudevan as Kunnakudi tried with Valayapatti Subramaniam. MR Tavil tension has to be corrected/adjusted yo the vocal tone of ARR. Let's enjoy and thank the technology.
between 16:45 to 17:45 What is happening to the Kalpanaswaram? SMGMGRSN in Hamsadwani! Its good to sing at exceptional speeds but not at the cost of eschewing swaras and mangling the raga!! Its unfortunate and Sad. It would better if he could be calm and meditative while singing If u actually play it slowly, you clearly hear MGRSN few times after 17:00. Even the violinist temporarily stalls himself! I can understand he intends to sing PGRSN. But the diction is different right, which artists need to be careful about!!
Sathya Nagarajan PhD sir while i am a humble student of music, it sounds very much like pa and not ma. At that speed and frequency of voice tone to you maybe it sounds like ma, but I assure you since it’s Abhishek Atleast there is clarity of voice and this videos audio is very good that you are able to discern better. Take it from me, any senior or any other musician if they do sing swaras in Hamsadhwani ya Tara sthayi nothing comes close to perfection, it is always an illusion. Why am I saying this, listening to music being performed and actually performing it are two different things. I have the good fortune of having done both to a good degree of acclaim and respect. Being in this field for 20 years I can assure we definitely know what we are saying, if it sounds otherwise we are sorry but that’s not what we meant.
@@akshaypadmanabhan8582 hey sir! You don't have to eschew your words in support of the artist. If you want to do so, it's all in your will and wish. I am a Veena player belonging to Sri KSN school and am in this field for 20 years out of passion.veena teaches gamakkam and Shruti more precise than just singing. You could wish to say that it's an illusion. But it's definitely not sir!!! I am sure you would have listened to Smt Brinda-Muktha, whether singing a vilambakala padam or ati-durita thyagaraja kritis you could perfectly notate the swaras, infact I will say Su-Swaras. That's because of absolute surrender to this divine art. I think you have your right to your opinion and I have mine.. I am not mincing my words!!! After all music is to elevate our soul and not trample it with our ego and over confidence!!
Sathya Nagarajan PhD with due respects to your guru and your vocation, veena playing and singing are definitely different. No matter what you can read in books, "his voice reached three octaves perfectly and he sang like bees buzzed" and whatnot, thos are at the end expressions, singing was pretty much the same since ancient time. human voice comes with its own limitations, not everybody is perfect. There’s nothing better or worse in singing, it’s their expression that comes out through his heart because he loves and believes in it. To my ear it sounds perfectly like Hamsadhwani. Though this is only as a response to you, otherwise I did not want any attention by posing a TH-cam comment. I know what going on simply because I am a vocalist too and understand it’s limitations and difficulties, difference and limitations between veena and vocal I don’t need to tell you, to each it’s own.
@@akshaypadmanabhan8582 it's okay!! As I said everyone is entitled to their opinions and infact vocal music can be related to either a Nadaswaram style approach or a vainika approach. No wonder the Trinity have glorified it. And as you say about these limitations, it exisit to mortal mundane souls , but not for an musically enlightened own akin to yesteryear legends. Technical prowess is very different from wisdom..... Anyways I don hope to buzzing with replies... Have a nice Sunday!! Bon Journee..
Sathya Nagarajan PhD sure unfortunately musically enlightened souls are no more today. We have reasonably enlightened souls performing. So with that in mind I wish you a good day. Composers have praised everything because they understand it perfectly. With due respects to Composers 🙏🏻 we can never attain moksha the way the attained it. So we can settle for mundane.
Perhaps Dravidian theory working. Or TM Krishna perhaps inspired them. The thavil is a very divine instrument, but there is a place for everything. We can't accompany a human voice with a nāgasvaram, and likewise a carnatic music accompaniment is not what thavil is intended for.
Nice sAreeram (voice).. Needs to pay attention to sAhityam: -mulAdhAra kshEtrArjitam (not astitam - worshipped in thiruvArur or mulAdhAra kshEtram) -vAkAtmakam (not majam - intrinsic to speech, not son of speech) -nikhila chandra (not nitala - full moon like round neck) -bhushita hErambham (not pujita - enjoys the hamsa sound or hamsa mantra, doesn't worship it)
moolaadhara kshetraasthitham is the correct version. It means that Lord Ganesha is the presiding deity at moolaadhara chakra of Kundalini (prithvi tatthva) (
Understood. Then it should be muladhahara chakrasthitham.. We refer to those as chakra and not kshetra.. Dikshitar was trying to refer to the vatapi ganapathi idol in thiruvarur temple.
Veena KS Actually, I have to agree with your first comment - it is mulAdhAra kshetrAstthitham. Means both mounted in thiruvarur and in mooladhara chakra as you mentioned... architam is indeed worship (not arjitam, which seems to mean gain/obtain) but doesn't seem Dikshitar intended that here. Thanks for pointing out..:)
Abhishek is a rare gift by God to Carnatic music. May God bless him with good health and prosperity
Abhishek best among present day Carnatic music singers.

Rich voice. I'm always happy to listen music of yours.
The ending of the Hamsadhwani raga alaapanai was great, especially that TRS touch which only TRS fans can discern! Sheer genius indeed.
