Either expired medication ministration is d caused of d deceased death or not.
    D hospital is guilty.
For d acceptance dat it's true d expired was given to a pt is against d law.
There4, not closing of d hospital is d only judgment.
Both Dr n d nurse dat administered d injection & medication license need to be revoked.

The doctor has no liability if he/she only prescribed the medication but didn't administer it. Whoever dispensed and administered the medication is liable, and maybe the medical director if he was made aware of the medication's expiry.

I’m medically experienced many years of experiences
    The issues are:
    1. So many medications can still be used after the expiration date some up to 5 years some up to 15 years they still have potency up to 90%
But some medication are very dangerous after expiration date
E.g anticoagulation drugs, insulin, antiplatelets blood thinners inhalers etc.
the first thing is to identify the medication and then carry out postmortem investigation before castigation. That’s the standard procedure and
what might also happened may be bad reaction maybe they lack the proper history of the patient and failed to carry out proper lab tests before treatment.

The same thing happened to my Aunty on 27 of July 2015 at one hospital in Mosfala, she walked in there by herself on a complaint of low blood pressure and the doctor advised us to conduct the operation on her and we agreed if that would let her be okay. That day I bought insecticide for mosquits and she was jumping up to kill the mosquito, she was operated on fibroid which was successful and later in the second day she was breathing heavily, I asked the doctor if she will be okay or we should move her to UCH, he said she will be okay after alots of blood and water pants with unknown differents injections. Around after 11pm water came out of her mouth and nose and she gave up the gost. Before she died I called the doctor severally to come and check on her he told us his car broke down and will soon be there. Since we did not have any evidence. I let it slide but I knew he used my sister because it was not up to a month that they founded the hospital. It wa a huge loss for us especially my mum and I.

Pls don't misunderstand me ,I quite agreed that the woman died as a result of their negligence and they must surely bear the consequences of their negligence of duty , their lawyer should have advice them to accept their negligence instead exchanging correspondences with them . I keep telling people always ask questions when they prescribe drugs or injections. Do your own findings before using them.

That was a deadly negligence of the hospital, it happens everywhere! it happened to me here in USA when i went to do TB test for a new healthcare job and the nurse worked in with injection bottle as she was wearing gloves i grabbed the bottle and check the date as a nurse, it happened that the bottle expired over a year but they just don't replace them and in so many cases that short will read positive then they will now say i have TB i should go for treatment because they will never say the truth even if they found out that the injection has expired. The nurse was so embarrassed and apologized immediately then went to bring a new bottle.

If you have elderly parents in Nigeria please get them to do genreal health tests. 50% of Nigerian parents have Diabetes. If it is not detected it leads to being in coma and losing limbs.

People too de die for that hospital, they need to investigate this matter to the last stage until the truth is unravel. I have used the hospital, but I changed the whole of my family to Jrapha all the while I was using HMO, but later changed to Patnas hospital in Bashorun. I never regretted my actions, and I have recommended the 2 later hospitals to people, nobody has ever given a negative report about them.

  • @henrya60

It is true that one can still use expired drug and foods after six months depending on the situation. There are two or three types of medication labelling. 1. Best before 2. Expire date . In these situations the drug can be less effective or toxic dangerous. If less effective then it is still safe but if toxic then it is not advisable to use after the expiration date.
