I remember when I first got this game, a disclaimer message appeared, saying to Parents that this game would teach children about life and death, ...and also not to dive into real-life rivers. I thought that they were implying that just the livestock would die, like in previous games.But when I first played this scene blind, damn. Now I know what it meant, and now I'm sad.
Well another elderly character died on the one on the GameCube no not Magical Melody.....it was Nina from A Wonderful Life....she was only around for a year and I really did like her a lot.
I made sure I said hi to Eda whenever I could, especially when I saw she had not planted anything on her farm at the start of Autumn. That was when I knew she wouldn't live for much longer. I did see all of her Rivalry events, so it wasn't all in vain. By then, I had already started a relationship with Fritz, so I'm sure she was happy knowing I had found somebody, who happened to be someone she knew. She was a lovely old woman.
Timcanpy Girl Yeah. And you know the saddest part? There's nothing that can be done to save her. Not even if you were the bestest of friends, or completed all her rivalry events. She will always die on Winter 1 of Year 1.
I think that the best possible thing you can do is make her as happy as possible. It won't save her, but at least you can feel more at ease knowing that you made the most of the time you did have. That being about 90 in game days. We don't know when her birthday is or what favorite gift item is yet, but it shouldn't be long until those things become known. Not to mention that when you unlock the closet and the Sewing Studio, you can wear her favorite outfits (the outfit the MC in this video is wearing is one of them).
My brother and i actually play this game together and we were fighting over who was gonna play it one day and i had already had it so i was playing it any way but when this event happened i cried so hard i just handed it to my brother and said i was done for the day. I just.....just....EDAAAAAAAAA!!! T_T
This so reminds me of the old woman (can't remember he name) in the A Wonderful Life games who dies between year 1 and 2 and its so sad to see her Husband living in a shack alone after she dies :(

I played this game the same time my grandma was suffering from cancer. I'll say it now, I am a horrible granddaughter. Oh, and this is gonna be long. Whenever we would come by her home, I always got irritated whenever my mom told me that we were gonna extend our stay. It's because I had a lot of friends and games like League waiting for me and well, it was the time I just got together with the most amazing person, I felt like I was just beginning my own life. However, when my grandma did get confined to the hospital a year later, I looked after her. I assisted her in any way I can. I stayed overnight and such, with my boyfriend coming over by morning and giving me breakfast and then stays with me until night. And then my grandma got discharged, I haven't seen her for a month. I was staying over that time with my bf. So...my little brother chatted me on Tuesday that I should come by, but since I was having fun wid my bf since we had a lot of anime to watch (because it was my break from my internship) I just told him to tell grandma that I'll come by at Sunday. When Sunday morning came, my grandma passed away. And I never got to talk to her. I started playing the game and was basically speedrunning it. (I know, I'm sorry) I would only buy a single chicken (since Eda already gave me a cow) a single sheep and then a rabbit. I would plant minimally and wouldn't participate in the rival contests. I was going for Mistel, and giving Iris gifts too but then completely neglecting the other villagers, even Eda. Then the mayor was doing rounds to collect donations for the fireworks festival. I offered like 1000 gold or less so the fireworks festival was disappointing, and I could see it in everyone's dialogues..Eda was trying to be nice tho. And then when Winter 1 came, I was completely heartbroken. And I just laughed at the irony of things. The events in real life happened simultaneously with the game...so I dropped playing it after Winter. Now, I picked it up again after a year and I'm planning to delete my save file. This time I'm going to do it right. I'm going to donate a lot of money to let Eda see beautiful fireworks, I'm gonna talk to her a lot. I'm gonna do the things I wasn't able to do in real life and the first time I played this.
I kind of know the feeling. I did something similar to my dad. And I also was speed running the game until this happened to me. Fuck the hours I was playing I started a new game to do the things right. I whish I could do the same in real life.
Omg...Just watching someone else playing this scene is making me tear up. Im getting this game in a few days....And I know I'll bawl like a baby when I have to see this scene for myself on my game. In my first file I chose Fritz. He... He reminds me of her so much. Sweet. Adorable. Energetic... Spry. She was a true friend. She honestly... God damn... I miss her. I still play this to continue her legacy...😔😔
Today I got the cutscene in this game and I got left in tears sitting on my couch home with my sister laughting T.T But on the bright side u get to do stuff like marry people then foward to the game u unlock places,but it very sad and nintendo shouldnt have put a game with death She was my favorite character T.T part that made me cry alot when she said of when she laid eyes on me she knew i was gonna be a good farmer and when she Said she had happy life :'(

Am I the only one who saw this coming from a mile away? The number of death flags the game threw at you was staggering. That said, it's almost a shame because Eda is a really likable character.
I didn’t even know that Eda dies in the game until I read a fan fiction and became curious about farm expansion in the game. I was super surprised. It was the 18th of Fall in my game, but I managed to get all of her rival cutscenes. I didn’t care about her all that much originally because of that stupid long tutorial, but once I found out she dies my opinion changed instantly. She’s so sweet. It’s too bad that I don’t think I’ll go after marrying Fritz anymore. I planned on doing that but...I kind of like Nadi and Klaus better.
