    Much love, my friend ❤️ Absolutely love these tips.
    The rat race of the corporate world is so tempting, but I always ask myself: When life is all said and done, what will I want the main narrative of my story to be? That usually helps keep my actions on the right track.
    You are on a path to helping a lot of people, James. Keep at it 💪🏾

    How do I say no if I can’t think of an alternative solution? Staffing is stretched so thin this year, I really wanted/needed time off after working late nights for three months but everyone else I know is in the same situation

    Thanks James for the insight. Your right, the people are like graceful swans floating on the surface, but paddling hard with their web feet. I do agree that maintaining a healthy balanced life style helps much in the long term. Cheers mate. Much respects from the US!

    Should I expect a bad busy season working for a smaller firm? I have just been offered an ACA training contract at a firm with four offices in the North East of England. I will be doing Audit and Accounts Preparation.

    James, how would you compare the stress level of accountants working in practice to investment bankers?

    • @JamesAlberts
      @JamesAlberts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's a great question, while its hard to directly compare, I'd say the work-life balance and stress within Investment Banking is probably slightly worse, however, you are compensated significantly more than in the BIG 4 accounting firms. So if you were to factor in both costs and benefits, BIG 4 is probably worse off! Let me know if you have any other questions or want to see any other content. All the best,

    You get paid so much more so the stress is part of the package, at least better than those on minimum wage

    • @JamesAlberts
      @JamesAlberts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks for your comment Lau. I’d dispute the ‘so much more’ statement. When you factor in the inputs (hours) versus outputs (wage), the pay is actually in line with national averages. While I agree that it’s still more than the minimum wage, it doesn’t counter for the additional work life balance stresses and impact on later life that professional roles such as accountants, doctors, and lawyers experience. This is by no means a complaining video, but rather a reference to profession which is currently struggling and will continue to struggle with outdated mental health mindsets.

      @@JamesAlberts hmmm that’s where a lot of us are mistaken. At least you get to dress in a suit and work in a clean and professional environment, imagine being paid in line with average national but work as a hustler lol
