    Hello Linda! It is the first time I have made a comment on your channel. I want you to know that you inspire me to enjoy my garden. I love the fact that you love to change things up. You have a look or style that is unique to you. Yet you can make it accessible to all of us. Thank you!

    Hi Linda! My husband thinks you must be the hardest working lady in. Oklahoma,he also mentioned that you are very pretty. He knows how much I respect and have improved my gardens over the the time I have been watching you. Also do you have help ? I have hired landscaping people for years and they do all the work but with my ideas. My daughter helps a lot and has also learned a lot from you. People have stopped and ask me how I get my lawn and plants so beautiful,I tell them about you. So happy I have found you. I feel you are my video plant friend, thanks for answering all my questions.

      Thank you for your very kind comment! Are used to do it all myself, but now I allow myself to get help from others. It depends on how busy I am, and whether or not something is extremely heavy, or extremely high :-)

    I think it means more to me than it does to my friends, when someone goes in my refrigerator. The fact that someone feels comfortable in my house, and secure with me, just makes me feel so good! I have a few people who have refrigerator rights and they’re the most special friends to have!!!

      @@camilla6110 I spent hours this week going through the plants in our sunroom, tossing those that looked like eventual goners, giving a good pruning to those that were getting leggy, and making room for bringing in tender plants, mostly ferns. Several chances for low temperatures around 30° this week.

    Wondelrful walkabout! Just what I needed after a stressful day today! Your garden looks lovely. Just lovely. I have a ton of fall cleanup yet to do and I’m hoping to get my tulipplanters ready for all the bulbs I have in my fridge 😂 I welcome anyone to my fridge and am generous with the refrigerator rights, but pockets will be checked for bulbs before leaving the house! 🌷 Love your outfit - very pretty! I learn so much from reading other comments. Love your outfit today & everyday. I have been making leaf & berry bouquets thanks to your inspiration. I used to on a regular basis, but not so much lately. BUT YOU ARE SUCH A POSITIVE INFLUENCE. In Norcal we've been getting rain with breaks for the last 2 weeks. I love it. I go out to do yard things when there are breaks. The colors locally are breathtaking.

    Next time I’m in the area. I’m going to ask for plant rights. Forget refrigerator rights. I’ll make sure I have a shovel and some containers in the trunk. You are such a blessed person. Everyone, this is the real Linda, such a kind and giving lady. She truly appreciates each follower. And folks Linda and I don’t share refrigerator rights. Lol! The good ole refrigerator rights. Love this saying! For us, it's close family and a few of our closest friends. Your garden still looks beautiful, Linda! I am now the proud owner of golden and orange rocket barberries, thanks to you! :) We still have a good many pine trees in our backyard to take down before I can really get my hands in the dirt back there, so my front garden flower babies are taking advantage of most of momma's attention right now. I absolutely adore the videos of your lovely garden and interior spaces!! Although I am many miles away in the great peach state, I feel like a privileged friend with any time of the day garden and home tour rights. By far, my favorite TH-cam channel!! I’d like to try some southern living collection. It was ONLY a record 4*F degrees in zone 8b/9a. We go 20 years without a bad freeze normally, and not this bad.

I am in zone 8A in Dallas Tx.I also have wax myrtle regular size tree that I did topiary as a garden sort of lollypop tree and love, love the scent of it leaves, have been reading about it that the leaves can be used instead of a sweet bay for cooking and also as tea... I wander if you ever did use the leaves for tea or cooking and if a compact wax myrtle is the same?

    Your “Refrigerator Rights” question really made me think. In all honesty, while I have a plethora of friends, only a couple fall into the refrigerator rights category. Upon reflection, I think I am somewhat of a control freak when it comes to what people see in my home. I believe I am a good hostess and create a welcoming atmosphere in my home. However, other than an open bar/drink area where folks can serve themselves, I pretty much control what they see. Perhaps I should lighten up a bit? Thanks for a great question.

      How tragic, really. Little things like this can be so revealing of a fraught relationship. My mother did not get along with her mother-in-law (who did not have a good relationship with any of her daughter-in-laws). I remember my mom once saying to one of us kids, "Give this to grandma," and my grandmother snapped back, "I am NOT your grandmother!" Well, duh, as if my mother didn't know that! I suppose she should have said, "Give this to YOUR grandma." Hard to understand why some people act like this, certainly doesn't make life more pleasant for anyone!

    Absolutely no refrigerator rights to anyone. That was a very big deal in the way I was raised. We never opened other people's refrigerator and expected the same respect in our own homes.

      This was how I was raised, also. But I think it really depends on the parties involved. If most everyone is more-or-less on the same page, I don't think either way of viewing this is right or wrong.

    I live in Little Rock. And I have played and taught music for the last 60 something years(yes I started as a child). But to your question of the day about refrigerator rights... The group with which I have played music for the last 44 years everyone in that group has not only refrigerator rights but also sofa and spare bedroom right... when the lattice house collapsed last year in the snow we extended the patio... last night I was sitting on the patio with one of my dear friends and came to the conclusion that everything I have done in my yard is to accommodate our musical gatherings... I am still learning what survived and what didn’t survive last winter... yet there is something in bloom all year round whether it be camellias in the winter... our yard is rather simple.. but like you I have come to the conclusion that if things are too busy it’s just a lot of work with not as much enjoyment... most of all I think the garden is for a place of joy.

    In the hot valley of California, I had a white fly issue too- this is the first year I noticed that they were on all plants; we are hot and dry for months on end.

      I bought 3 myrtle topiaries this spring, lost my largest myrtle due to not watering enough. The 2 smaller ones did fine. I didn’t realize just how much water they need until watching another TH-camr (Brandonlarkroberts) who is another fan of Linda’s, who has several myrtle topiaries & mentioned how much he waters his.

    You don't think ivy hurts brick or stucco? How about creeping fig?Yes, friends and family have rights to fridge.

      @debel829 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't plant the fig. It grows too fast and is terrible for brick and paint! Wish I have the Boston instead. Want to pull all the fig out but think it has spread too much.

    I’ve never thought of refrigerator rights. I’m certainly not possessive of mine and the contents would disappoint most people. I’m amazed that your ivy is 30 years old! I think your winters help contain it. There is a lot of fig ivy grown here in Houston and it is so aggressive that it should not be planted near trees or houses. We use Jasmine ivy as a ground cover contained with steel edging. It is so dense it looks like a tiny hedge when contained.

    Refrigerator Right’s: This is reserved for my grown children who no longer live in my home. We have done with English ivy as you have done with the Boston ivy (in the back garden) only difference is we do not get the fall color.
