  • My guide to the best applications of Sektor as a kameo for Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat 1. Sektor is in competition for being Shang Tsung's best kameo pick. He offers great tools to mitigate Shang's weaknesses and enhance his strengths while also offering a few unique pieces of tech that other kameos cannot. While I ultimately think Kano is a better pick, the race is close and playing Sektor is far from a wrong answer for how to build a team around Shang.

    Great Shang videos bruh 👍🏻
I was struggling with pressuring the opponent until I saw you playing Kano, now I can play more offensive and still win more with him.
It would be nice to do a video about ground skulls juggling combinations.
Also how do you deal with subzero players up close ? Because it feels a struggle guessing whether they will come from a low or an overhead.

Thanks! Glad to hear you've been finding ways to keep the pressure on with Shang.
My Shang guide goes over combo routes, and they all include ground skull juggles. There's no really special trick, you just special cancel your normals into ground skull, so I'm not sure what you want in a guide.
Sub-Zero's overhead is slow and reactable, so you just block low until you see the overhead start. He also has two strings that end with overheads which give plenty of reaction time and slower string that ends in a low giving even more reaction time.

      @@Dirty_Harambe thanks !
I can do the juggles between the far and the close skulls after doing the enhanced close skull, but I see some players extend it till they move the opponent to the opposite side and keep juggling.
An easy example would be if you do the enhanced close skull they go full screen then you can do three skulls starting (far - mid - close) then the opponent can go behind Shang in the air, I see some players move Shang a little bit to the front and do another enhanced close skull to the opposite side to extend the juggling.
      I hope it’s clear 😅

@@thesun4892 I see, you're talking about the all skull juggles. I might do a video on them eventually, but those routes have a very niche use case. They do way less damage than looping them with kicks, and are harder to execute. The only upside is that ground skull cannot be broken, so if your opponent built enough meter to break after your combo started but before it becomes pointless to break and the all skull route actually kills, then it is worth doing. In every other scenario it is better for your opponent to waste breaker or for you to do more damage for less meter. I have literally never used an all skull route in a real match because of how niche the application is.

@@Dirty_Harambe yeah I see your point. For me the all skulls is for the sake visual fun.
Shang can execute 400+ damage without wasting a bar, especially with Sub Zero, Scorpion, and Sektor kameos as far as I tried.
I played with Scorpion for a while but he wasn’t that good for pressure like Kano, he is good with the overhead as a startup since Shang lacks an opening overhead for combos but that doesn’t really serve well for pressure. For combinations that have both ground and aerial combos Scorpion would be the best.

@@thesun4892 if you want meterless combo damage Sektor is the right pick. You can do (young) f4k3-dbf1, (old) f3-df1, 4-df1, 4-df1, f4-df1, f4-db3 for about 420 damage no meter, plus you keep all the pressure and full screen shennanigans and have some kind of answer to projectile immunity. If you want to spend meter you can end that same route with EX injection plus up rocket to get a form steal extension which ends up giving at least 440 on basically everyone, and usually 500+ if you use fatal blow. You can get more damage out of someone like Sareena, but you fail to cover your weaknesses or give a meaningful buff to your strengths with that team. Scorpion is even worse for Shang than Sareena, but he does give cool form stealer routes.
Shang has good combo damage solo and meterless anyway, so I would never choose my kameo to give damage, I would just take it as a cool perk of the pick like I do with Sektor. Honestly I would rarely even use Sektor extensions because he is so much more valuable than ~30 damage most of the time.
