Pakchong Grass is a high protein hybrid of Napier Grass (หญ้าเนเปียร์) as Elephant Grass is called in Thailand.

Pennisetum purpureum naturally grows in the Caribbean, Middle- and South America, Central Africa, Melanesia, South East Asia and surroundig areas.
You are talking about a bread hybrid, that can't be propagated by their own seeds.

Wouldn't it be far more efficient to grind this stuff on-site, compact it, and then transport it? Or better yet, not transport from CA to OR, but maybe a couple of counties over at most?
