Fun fact: This song is from the point of view of a character called Samuel across Wolf. The main story involves Tyler/Wolf Haley going to a camp called Camp Flognaw for teens with mental issues, and taking a girl called Salem who is in a toxic relationship with Samuel. Samuel then flips out, starts killing Salem and nearly Wolf/Tyler.
As far as i understood it he never kills salem and in fact they get back together later in the album. Sam does kill Earl tho in rusty if I'm not wrong.

For me, this song represents the ability to wholeheartedly love someone even though your relationship with them is toxic. Relationships come with so many insecurities and anxieties and makes you vulnerable to being hurt. This song touches on the pain that comes from loving someone and the battle that it creates.

this is why wolf is my favorite album. all of the characters are so unique and the love triangle with sam/salem/wolf is a theme that appears in cmwygl and igor as well (just w diff characters/personas). it’s so interesting to think about this fictional camp and all of the real-life meanings to the individual songs but also the album as a whole.
