Only One Piece can have you shocked by something you were already spoiled on. I'm telling you when I read this chapter, I couldn't think straight for that whole week
I'm with Steph on how he feels because no one wants to be spoiled on a series biggest reveal after watching over 1000 episodes. I get Toei wants it to be a huge event but still think it's a bit of a slap in the face to those who spent so much time into watching the story unfold. It's crazy too because if you think about it, he's _always_ been Joy Boy. His life is literally a long list of liberation stories, where he's gone from island to island overthrowing evil conspirators or government officials or racist oligarchs and monarchies, and in general returning the smiles and good spirits of every person he comes across. That's why people have always remarked that this is Luffy's true power, his ability to turn even enemies into friends. Turns out it's a literal *power* lol, Luffy has been displaying Joy Boy's traits throughout the entire series. He's the natural successor, he embodies the freedom of long-suffering, sacrificial and unconditional love.

Yeah, it’s extremely easy to get spoiled. I got spoiled because one of the random animators I follow got hired for the animation of One Piece episode, if I remember correctly. Or maybe I wasn’t even following them, but someone who follows them… So annoying!
The manga reading comes first when thinking about not getting spoiled, but the truth is… When something leaks, it goes off. And we are talking about One Piece here! Every single thing goes viral. And imagine what will happen when One Piece will be revealed. It will no longer be contained only by the Internet. Advertising companies will catch that and start showing spoilery things everywhere, just to earn extra money and prey on people.
