This series feels like such a great way to learn the game, learning from both the mistakes of the low elo players and then seeing the good optimized version from the pro in the same video. Sub to the grub!
Hi grabby, I'm that Vereton. Really glad to get on your channel, to be honest, I played a bunch of games on purpose to make this happen. Now my MMR is already 1150, so I'm no longer in the bronze league. By the way, I learned about the surround thanks to your castes. Big love from Russia
I started following your channel back when you made videos commentating on previous big competetive games you played, those were really awesome. You are a very cerebral man which is quite rare!
idk why im so enamored by these but keep em coming! I would of never expected this much nuance in the game as a 10 year old. maybe i just loved my TDs and Mauls
You found your calling, Grubby! Bronze heroes league is amazing! Full chaos, different builds, you're free to drop down all your knowledge and silliness on us snd it inspired you to try their builds. Just *chef's kiss*
I'm taking so many notes of these series. Please keep it going its a great way to communicate many basics that are not covered in other ways even if you tried to make a really lengthy guide Which would be time consuming for you.
"He's way stronger than what I've expect from this level." - How often I have felt like that on low MMR games, and which is why it became too frustrating. Hard for me to stay motivated like that. But love the content @Grubby. I like to watch low MMR games, seein all the mistakes but still being able to say where are major weaknesses and strengthes of each player. These games are for more unpredictable.
This strategy is also the one I came up with when I tried to play Warcraft 3 skirmish. Something with human, paladin and armor just makes sense. Though, my strategy leaned more unto survivability, preferring to introduce priests earlier. I also enjoyed heroes, so I would get them. T3 was whatever to counter what enemy was doing. If I had an initiative, it would be upgraded knights, because they are even more tanky and survivable with heals and armor aura. I liked sorceress and spell breakers as units and would often just sprinkle them in. I did it just because I did not knew if enemy would be using buffs, so some precaution would be nice. Sorceress ensured that I would always get an unit if enemy flees from me. Cool and strong units in my eyes. Human race suffered from too many specialized units. It has Hawk Riders, siege engine, siege mortar, flying machines. Human race from my impression has tons of specialized equipment which is meh, but it has very decent core foundation units and then S tier support units.
Your reasoning about piling up ressources as casual gamer is imho not completely correct.Experienced players know from memory what to do and what to build next and how to achieve it. Unexperienced players need to think, which is quite a burden if you play a game with 100 and more APM expected to play "decent". Its like chess: a beginner thinks 5-10 minutes about every move where a regular player draws from a "memory database of chess positions". Thus a grand master can play 50 games in parallel because they only react to positions and do not to care about each game they seem to play. Another example is driving: I have decades of experience and can almost drive any car at any conditon everywhere while having a relaxed conversation. But in a country with left side traffic I feel like a new born and I am completely exhausted after 30 minutes, I realy have to think what to do, not just draw from years of experience. Your free improvisation on builds and strategies is like driving in your hometome you can effortless find a route with a bacery, a tank stop, avoid traffic jams ... as you know everything from memory, no fundamentaly new actions required.
I don’t know if you’re aware, but you essentially just described Paul Fitts’ (generally well-accepted) psychological theory of skill acquisition wherein a skill transforms from cognitive to procedural/automatic due to learning and practice (a process known as automatization).
@@draheim90 Thank you did not know this name, but this is of course not MY research :) As a father I'm just interested in methods that really work efficient and effective.
@@draheim90 Oh that makes a lot of sense, since all the common actions (even action-intensive ones) are off-loaded to the "automatic" part of your brain, then the experienced player's "conscious" brain is free to examine the situation and make good decisions. Also, perhaps automatized actions have less mistakes too, they re so well-trained and ingrained. So the less experienced player's "conscious" brain is still occupied doing even the normal common actions, which lets the more experienced player (whose conscious mind is free to think) can run rings around him.
This series has inspired me to download w3c. When I purchased reforged I just kept getting matched with people way better than me. It’s nice to know that there are still a lot of people like me who probably haven’t played the game since they were a kid back in the 2000s.
It seems like what distinguishes good players from excellent players is how they spend their apm. E.g. should I prioritize microing my almost dead units, or microing my army to kill units of the enemy, or should I focus on casting spells perfectly, etc... Would be nice to hear you talk about that more. I know it's probably more a subconscious thing that takes practice but still maybe there are some general principles about effective apm usage?
2:59 On build orders, that is how normal people do it.... "proces" people notably those with ADHD are reactive optimizers. They do something really well but need to learn to recognize opportunities the build order generates to win or achieve goals. Goal-directed / build order playstyles are better but not for every neurotype. If you want to keep proces-minded people on board especially when coaching or advising don't force them to remember plans but instead teach reactions or impulses.
When some others do BLH, they're so incredulous and condescending. You call your viewers out for that! Then you take it so much further by adopting and enhancing their builds -- Tempering! This is awesome, a fun version of Bronze League Heroes.
Does Grubby use a normal keyboard to play Warcraft 3?. .. BC gamepads like the nostromo which was like the Belkin version. It was a gamepad that 100% could be customizable. For instance, I could press one button and I can make it do my MMO characters Max DPS rotation. You would spend the time and do the timings correctly so that it mimicked exactly how you do in real life. But once you have that properly timed. I could just execute one button and it would do everything so LOL. It would be like did our tank go AFK LOL you would be like no, I just press one button. Now. Imagine you can do this with the sources polymorphone a hero for 1.5 seconds, but you did a control group where let's just say six sorceraces would chain together and get the maximum benefit of 1.5 seconds time. Six sorcerers.
riffles honestly too OP for a tier 1 unit. they seem to just brush off most melee attacks (they are very hardy) and their damage is high, ranged and instant (no projectile). maybe a little armor nerf at the very least is warranted because the value you get from focus firing with them is just too good.
I know who is the scammer selling build order advice. It's the warcraft 3 human AI, it always opens by pulling gold peasants for the first 3 buildings. I played like that for about 15 years having picked it up by watching my allied AI do it in reign of chaos skirmishes (I originally did not have access to battle net so I just played reign of chaos with AI when I was a kid)
I saw the bronze games and noticed that 1000 mmr players play like me. But i got assigned to 4500 mmr after lossing 4 evaluation games. Since then, i lost 90% of my games, and im still over 4000 mmr. Its just not fun to play against much better players all the time. And by this rate it will take me 100 games to actually get to players at my skill. I quit wc3 for that. Blizzard really ruined the match making system
same! I'm a low diamond Z in SC2. I hopped in to play a casual custom game on WC3 after decades of not touching the game. I was demolished by the normal AI twice in a row! xD
This series is amazing please don't stop
Yessss
Agreed

Yep

Indeed. Our Grubby man is doing a wonderful job.

Thanks for representing our community the way u did, bratan. Quite an honor to appear on the Dutch WC3 TV, eh >:D
GGs, man, respect from Kursk
@@ЕвгенийВоробьев-т7с stay safe in Kursk brother. Hope everything is fine over there
This format reminds me of the time I spammed triple barrack footman and just rushed the enemy back in the '00s. Worked surprisingly well.
and it will work again, we just need to believe
rushing always work well.. not fun but works...

Resurrection... damn... it's been a while see this ultimate skill.

That resurrection was so epic.
Nice series! Funny but still respectfull. I like it, keep it up 😎

Grubby literally reversed the reality vs expectation meme
LITERALLY
Love Bronze Heroes! Its entertaining and educating... pure edutainment/infotainment
i would like to see more of this pala playstyle fun to watch :D

Grubby really out here playing tower defense in his opponents base 😭

Bronze series commentary plus the grubby bronze elite play is 100% worth my time and likes

Wow this is a really fun series and the improved bronze strats feels really fun to watch
Honestly very helpful series. I want to try playing wc3 again after seeing other low elo players are playing too.
I recently staretd wathcing you Grubby almost every day, i am huge fan of happy, russian myself, but i just want to say i love it!

Loving this series! ❤
PLEASE DO THIS SERIES THEY ARE AMSING!'
Hey grubby these videos are so entertaining. I request to play with german game audio as the sounds are very nostalgic and it could be funny!
Oh gosh that piano analogy was interesting.
16:34 after calling the man the entire match as "veteran", the sudden realization:
Make this 100 episode 100 series. You'll always get 1 viewer here mate.
Сильно понравилась игра Vereton. Видно, что очень перспективный игрок!
I like how you never bothered to read his nickname correctly, you called the guy veteron like 999 times
Tekercs! Bojler eladó!
HU for "roll"
Prononciation-wise "cs" is spelled like "Ch" in Chigaco and the E like the "e" in dementina.
I'd say the word Scroll probably describes his name than roll, but that was my first impression too. :)
Ugyanitt bojler eladó.
My new favorite subseries
Frankinshtei is already a legend of WC3 but he doesn't know it.

building farm in your opponent base is classic white pepo tactic

It seems worth to get tier 3 all the time just for the exp bonus, no?
Playing the piano for 20+ years or so :D
this was great
I need a ffa or 2v2 Bronze League Heros be fun to watch and to learn also side note but 3 Bronze League Heros vs 1 Grubster?
@grubby I would love to watch you play Warhammer total war if you are branching to new rts it’s very different from something traditional like WC3
Those farms weren't just bm, they were super effective

With such a great setup at the start it would've heen pretty sad if the game hadended with an immediate forfeit.
l am watching this and l feel like bronze player are veteran to me. l can't even defeat computer in normal.
