    Little bit of history about Road Atlanta. Back in the day it was owned by 2 brothers who seemed to spend money like it was going out of fashion. They had so much in fact that they raced at Le Man's and actually won their class there. Eventually it came to light that they were running a little side business importing and distributing cannabis on an industrial scale using a couple of aircraft that used to land and take off on the back straight during the night. They were eventually jailed for quite a long time and the circuit sold to new owner who continued the racing programme without the need to deal in drugs!

    What formidable races we had. In the first race, the dispute was beautiful, too bad that in the end you let go a little on the grass in the last corner and there was a slight touch. The second race was recovery. We still fought for a few laps, but his pace was stronger. Thanks for the races, hugs and see you on the tracks. Brazilian greetings! LBR_Elieser_

    Love this track and not just because I live near it. Was at Petit Le Mans in 2021 and am going to the 24 Hours of Lemons this year at it. Great fan experience with easy pit access and lots of trails to get around the track quickly. You can walk from there to Spectator Hill at the end of the Esses in about 15 minutes.

      The fact that GT7 has introduced Daytona (an up-to-date version, not the one from GT5 Prologue), Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta to the series makes me think they're trying to get all four IMSA Endurance Cup tracks in the game and Sebring is next. Great to see Road Atlanta in GT7. I live in Atlanta and have been out there many times. They have done a really nice job in recreating it in the game. IRL the hill at the end of the long straight feels steeper than it appears in the game and the last corner coming over the top of the hill is really blind. You have to really have faith in your line.

    Prior to 1998, the end of the lap used to be even more fearsome. I recommend taking a look at some old IMSA GTP race footage to see what "the Hollow" or "Gravity Well" was like.
    Yeah, unless it's multi-class racing, the Esses are probably going to be single file.
    I think people forget, but kinetic energy increases with the square of the velocity. So in relation to Turn 1, when you think about it, decelerating from 150 to 100 mph is actually a much heavier braking zone than going from 100 to 50 mph, even though the difference is 50 mph in both cases.
    You do more of your braking for Turn 7 later than you think, since Turn 6 is banked, allowing you to carryquite a bit more speed deeper into the combo than you might expect.
    As far as real tracks go, it's hard to argue against Road America, though you have to be aware that that one is actually pretty narrow (only 30 ft for most all the lap).
    From the old games, I definitely like El Capitan, but California is already feeling pretty heavily populated as things stand. As for other Original Circuits, Matterhorn or the Eiger rally stages would be nice.
    In terms of real circuits outside the US go, maybe the F1 layout at Adelaide, Kyalami in South Africa, and/or Potrero de los Funes in Argentina.

Not their awful classes they have now where they pair up like modern lmp1 cars against freaking 30 year old group C prototypes. Having a proper grid of like modern dpi cars or lmp 2 cars going around this beautiful track would be so much fun, and look amazing. I cant even imagine how cool it'd be if they had mixed grid lobbys with lmp2 and gr3 cars. I just overall wish racing sims would do a better job of allowing you to imitate real life racing grids, instead of forza style car lobbies that always have a few cars that just feel totally out of place.

      Agreed. Not offering multi-class racing is a huge missed opportunity for GT. Kaz has raced at the Nurburgring 24h several times, so he has experienced multi-class racing irl. this wouldn’t be fair as FM7 came out in 2017. you wait for a proper comparison of the track in FM8 2023. (even though motogames jumped on it quick)

    • @ronny12tech
      @ronny12tech ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GoatedAtNFS I don't know what you mean by "fair", if you're talking about the visual impact, then I can say I'm not interested in graphics, of course it would be an unfair comparison because of the huge gap you've just mentioned, though I'm interested solely in physics and Steve's personal sensations. I'm not expecting FM8 to have a huge improvement in physics since they're focused more on the visual aspect, at least this is what we've learnt from the teasers and the interviews

    I literally just rage quited the video because i was very focused on Steve trying to attack for P1 on the last corner and then i saw how he spun off and inmediatly threw my phone away.

    Hi Steve, I totally agree with your verdict on the new course, a positive surprise addition. Thanks for many entertaining videos, I love your dry wit and irony. Great to see your posts from Monaco too, well done on getting so far in the Gran Turismo universe. With good people like you campaigning for the best possible user experience for the rest of us normal people who don't play as much as you, I am feel confident that the game will only get better. The latest update was a very big improvement, but there are definately a few loose ends left to deal with such as lobby stability. Best greetings from Copenhagen.

    COTA is obvious because of F1, but the I'd really like to see Road America added. It's so good in prototypes and open-wheelers and lends itself well to multi-class if that were to become a thing in GT7. I'd say it's got some similar characteristics to Road Atlanta so it would be a good sequence to run both tracks.

    I also want them to bring in Trial Mountain and Deep Forest Historic layouts and I'm shocked we don't have Mid-Field considering how much they spent redeveloping it for GT6.
