You've got yourself a 1940s corde handbag. One of the most practical vintage pieces a gal could own, they're made using gimp corde and in their heyday were marketed as being long wearing...even now, they're virtually indestructible! I wear mine with just about anything - such lovely bags! Enjoy your "new" goodies : )

Yes that little hanbag/clutch bag is what I was speaking about when I said that back then, women only took a compact with mirror and usually for the bag, pressed powder (but you did get compacts that had an inner cover for loose powder which kept the powder puff and mirror separate) and a lipstick as bags were pretty small. This continued to the 60's.

I am obsessed with cameos as well!! My Nanny (grandmother) had this stunning, and freaking heavy, peachy colored marble looking stone with a white cameo Greek Mythos style scene on the lid of the jewelry box. It wasn't a small jewelry box either. It has to be about a foot long and about 4inches, maybe a little bit more including the lid tall. I believe my mother still has it in her possession and I hope to be the one who inherits it someday. It was originally my great-grandmother's, so it's got to be at least 100years old, give or take a decade. ❤
I still can't believe how personalized the boxes are and they hand pick everything!! All the pieces are amazing 😭 and that little black handbag works so well with that dress!! I need to get a box of my own tbh 😂

You cannot possibly be worse at clasping necklaces than moi! I literally have to turn the clasp towards the front, clasp it, and then rotate it around to the back. Props if you have long hair and can successfully complete the turn without ripping out your hair! I also may (shamelessly) do this with my bras, too. Oops. But on a less over-share-y note, these items are so lovely! I definitely think that $50 is a great price to pay for such great quality vintage pieces. I agree that it's definitely not in everyone's price range, but it is a steal when it comes down to it! I definitely think my favorite piece out of your box was the butterfly/moth necklace- such a unique find. :)

Rachel get yourself a retractable utility knife. I got mine in a purple floral design (along with a tape measure, screw driver, hammer) so my husband wouldn't "borrow" them indefinitely :) Makes box opening a snap and makes the box reusable. Opens them perfectly. Love your vids.

I’m going to give a jewelry subscription box a try and unbox on my channel when I receive it, I’m quite excited about it. The butterfly necklace is a bolo style necklace, Avon made some like that which were very nice, I have one. I love and collect vintage Christmas brooches, I’ll have to do a video of my crazy collection. That one looks great on that top. The gold necklace looks a bit like milk glass beads, but doesn’t quite look old enough to be milkglass but I could be wrong. Great video.

That purse style is called a wristlet purse (because the strap goes on your wrist like a bracelet). I think is from the 40's, there's a similar looking one on google if you search "40's vintage wristlet purse".

That purse style is called a wristlet purse (because the strap goes on your wrist like a bracelet). I think is from the 40's, there's a similar looking one on google if you search "40's vintage wristlet purse".
