Starshape fortresses were developed to counter the invention of mobile cannons. Once armies learned they could put cannons onto carriages and pull them along with horses the design of fortresses had to change. The pointy parts of starshape fortresses are difficult to shoot at and the points are filled with earth so cannon balls can't demolish them. Glad you're enjoying the videos!!
