      I’m a chick and have been shooting/handling guns for over 30 years. Shooting is a skill and can be learned just like any other skill. At first guns are intimidating and scary. Later when you know what you’re doing, and you will, you have respect for them. I’m a better shot than my husband, who’s been handling guns longer than 30 years. The first time I held a gun, the fact that handguns were developed (aside from hunting) to kill another human being was very sobering. Then, okay, what’s next? I learned to shoot, reload, rack the gun, clean them, etc. I shoot revolvers, semiautomatic handguns, rifles and shotguns. Ignore the idiots who make fun of you or put you down. They weren’t born knowing how to shoot just like nobody’s born knowing how to drive. Kudos to you for wanting to learn.

    You explained it so clearly...My Dad tried to teach me to shoot and he kept using terminology I didn't know much about, so I appreciate you for not confusing me!! You cleared a lot of it up for me

      Awesome. Thank you so much!
      Like I said in the video, terminology is the most important thing in learning ANY new skill. If you can't understand the language and the jargon, any new skill is going to be confusing. Once you and your teacher are on the same page with the terms and words being used, learning gets far easier.
      I'm so glad this helped you!

    Thank you for this video! Very informative and I like the way you’ve approached us beginners.. I’ve watched several videos on gun ownership and about starting out and this is very very good because it doesn’t assume us newbies know anything.. which is how you teach ppl. Other videos were informative if you already have a basic knowledge. Learning the terminology is very helpful for me and helps me relate this info to other things I e learned this far.

      I think about making more a lot, actually. This is not a "firearms channel" per se, but this is one of my most popular videos and lots of people have asked for more. I keep thinking maybe I should do a firearms channel... We shall see what the future holds...

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LuthorvilleCA I have ran into this problem my self and I would just recommend doing everything on one channel as some of your viewers will like the overlap and the videos have a higher chance of doing better when you already have a slight subscriber base built it. Your channel could either have mixed content or slowly over time you can transition to being just a firearms channel.
      I started with a fitness channel first and then I transitioned to tech channel and because I had viewers to already, it helped boosted the new tech content and overall everything performed better.

    • @LuthorvilleCA
      @LuthorvilleCA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SERGE_Tech Yeah, I hear what you're saying. I think it depends on two main factors:
      1. The quantity of content.
      2. How closely it relates to your current channel.
      For example, if it's just a few videos that are slightly off-topic, it can be okay. Almost like a "special series". But, if it ends up being 50 videos veering way off the original premise of your channel, you should just create a different channel.
      Personally, I already have multiple channels for multiple subjects. Some are far more popular than others. For example, I have a skateboarding channel with over 30K subscribers and I have a brand new bicycling channel with... 29. Not 29,000. Just... 29. Ha, ha!
      I see transitioning the topic of your channel worked out very well for you.
      I just looked at your channel and your tech videos really surged in popularity, compared to the fitness stuff. That's awesome!
      But, yes, the firearms stuff is fun. I'm glad you enjoyed what I did.

      What should your first firearm be? Really depends on what you intend to use it for. There are so many uses for firearms. Hunting? Home defense? Personal protection? Target shooting? Sport shooting? Cowboy action? Skeet? No one can tell you what your first gun should be, until you explain what you want to do with it.

    I really enjoyed your presentation. Despite it being the basis of firearm practice I found this upload to be to the point, thorough and well thoughtout. Personally I feel that this upload will be very insightful and aid alot of potential new firearm owners. I do have to point out that it is probably not the best idea to cross thumbs as a means of creating a stable grip on your pistol as it may lead to unnecessary "muzzle flip" and thereby reducing accuracy which in my belief is a liability in a self defense scenario. Also you going to want to watch the itchy finger on the trigger when re-holstering buddy.. I saw that😳

    At 1st I was getting really annoyed. because I walked away and was barely listening, then I heard him start talking super weird while shooting. Like it broke my thought process of what I was doing in the next room because the joke was going on waaaayyyy too long. Then walking back to my computer I actually listened to what he was saying and I realized it was Billy Murray from Caddy Shack and I started smiling. I wish more 90's millineals and younger knew that movie or any of the Big 3 in it. Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield. I literally just learned that the mayor from Groundhog Day(Brian Doyle-Murray) was Bill Murray's Older Brother lmao.

    It's so crazy to me how, in the US, you can acquire a firearm without any registration or legal procedures, and at pretty much any age. Where I live, not only do you need a goverment-approved license and training, but you must be over 18 to acquire a firearm. Never had school/public shooting issues. Nevertheless, brilliant video! I'm not a gun fanatic in the least, but I like educating myself on all kinds of subjects, and firearms happened to be the interest I landed on haha

    • @LuthorvilleCA
      @LuthorvilleCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is not true at all.
      In the United States, Federal law requires all firearm dealers be licensed and to initiate a background check before transferring a firearm to a non-dealer, regardless of where the transfer takes place. Background checks for firearms have been conducted through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) since November 1998.
      Most states require buyers be at least 18 years old too.
      This idea that anyone and everyone in the United States can just walk into stores and buy guns, as easily as chewing gum, is an absolute lie.
      But, thanks for watching and commenting! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
