Guys, welcome to Lake Erie fishing. You brought the right boat and equipment to thrive on Lake Erie. Biologist say that 80% of the fish that live in the Great Lakes are in Erie. The Walleye hatches have been on the high end for many years now. It is hard not to catch them. If you like Smallmouth fishing come back in June and fish the island region. You won't be disappointed.
Great video as always Grant! Grew up on the Saginaw Bay which is filthy with walleye too but Lake Erie is the king! Always looking forward to your next video!
Its awesome to see your excitement catching those big girls. Sometime us locals take them for granted. I couldn't imagine ever moving too far away from Lake Erie. Great video fellas. The summer fishing is dependent on how fast the water temperature warms up around the islands. It seems like the larger fish head more East, but we still catch perfect eaters 15"-18" all year round.
swimbaits and hair jigs.... WAAAY more fun. Seems like guys run over to Erie, it takes longer to put out 8 boards and then it does to get a 3 man limit. Erie to me is for fun, not just a meat run. Go out, cast baits at them and club the F out of em for 10 hours.
You did a fast turnaround on the video. You are in my home water. Don’t make fun of our chubby girls - they carry a big cargo of eggs. Those fish were faded from the murky water. Glad you enjoyed the adventure and appreciated the fish.
@@SuperiorAngling. The July - August fishing is excellent but different. If interested, you can come down and I will be glad to get you on the fish. I will send you an email.
@@SuperiorAngling Resident Lake Erie fisherman here too Grant. Check out this link to an annual Lake Erie walleye migration. th-cam.com/video/-DWKfXwmnZQ/w-d-xo.html

Nice to hear someone explain in detail how it makes sense to have shallowest lures on the outside board. Enjoyed it.
Surprised you guys haven't hit the Apostles yet for trout/salmon this early spring. Fishing has been very good.
Hair jig bite is on. So much more fun to fish while you can!

Thought it was 3 lines per angler in the great lakes... Maybe I'm wrong.
It varies by state, but yes we were allowed 3 lines per person.

Is there a reason you are using spinning rods with bait cast reels?
So you were thinking about ice fishing in Canada. I bet you forgot about 🇨🇦 after those EYE'S starting biting!
Yes, forgot about it very quickly indeed! ha.

@@SuperiorAnglingJuly and August is great out of Geneva.
Ohio only allows 3 rods per angler, be careful
I will answer for him as I have mentioned this in the past, there’s a camera man. This guy would never violate the rules he’s top notch.
