Scott is an excellent instructor. Improved my shooting by light years. I took a weekend class and I'll be working through everything I learned for a long time to come. Sign up for one of his, or his instructors' classes. Good luck, because they fill up very fast.
I agree completely, I took an MSP class Aug '21, amazing class that really helps dial in a fantastic grip, great presentation, and smooth & fast draw. Tried to sign up again early this year and sold out already. Got to register early.
Love these, Thank you for putting out great videos. Just a little tip, (with the utmost respect)- I know you mentioned you only carry the holster with the extra magazine when you go into “sketchy” areas. Remember your not only carrying for the extra round count, but carrying an extra magazine in case of a malfunction, if it drops, etc. which can occur in any environment. Just my piece of advice. Love your stuff man!
Trade offs. We make trade offs with all our decisions. Carrying the extra mag makes it harder to conceal so I have to be even more conscious about what I’m wearing and carrying.
Excellent video, thank you for sharing your experiences with us. @11:47 I'm finding that limiting shoulder movement to be a huge task at the moment. I can mimic "arms no shoulder" draw but as soon as I do it with holster/pistol on it just falls apart. Please keep us posted on how you progress with this aspect of the draw. Thank you :D
Might be a dumb question - but do you not risk cutting your left thumb with it that high on the slide? My left thumb rests perpendicular to the slide but it’s just below the slide. Awesome video by the way!
What course was this? You said you did aiwb and belt stuff? I’m going to the class in Beaumont this weekend and it just says red dot class but I’m bringing both setups. I was hoping it would cover aiwb. It doesn’t really specify what method of carry is going to covered.
Love these videos but am I correct in assuming when you say "drawing from a belt" you mean a battle belt or similar? Because all my holsters ride on a belt
It sounds dumb but I have no problem carrying a striker fired gun without a safety and even carry my M&P 2.0 with an apex flat faced trigger with about a 2.5lb pull but for some reason the thought of carrying a staccato appendix makes me nervous. Mainly the fact it's single action.
I realize you probably know this because you say it sounds dumb, but a 2011 with two safeties is going to be far safer than a fully cocked M&P with a 2.5 pound pull. Now either is just fine if using safe drawing and holstering practices.
@@cedartop1 Exactly. Safe drawing, holstering practices and holster quality. Nothing against Apex but imo, I would never rely on a third party trigger for a carry gun. I came from Glock over to Staccato. The 2 safety features kinda bugged me at first but you get used to it and understand why you need it after feeling that trigger. There's even some people who disable the grip safety (which I wouldn't recommend).
PS you can communicate with me via email to keep things private. I've enrolled and paid for his Aug 23-24 class in Ohio. I just want to be able to practice and work on things before going.
So what is this pinky press thing he keeps talking about ? My grip is fine but has little to do with my pinky. Maybe a little but most of my squeeze is from my ring and middle finger Id guess.
When Scott took that Glock 48 and made it look like it was flat af ☠☠. He do got some big mf hands doe 🤣🤣 I love his technique but I kinda don't understand the position of the left thumb. Hopefully I'll be able to get in one of his classes, I'm in Cali so it's tough. I'll have to practice it one of these days.
I watch a lot of gun videos! Every "training" video I see, the "instructor" uses a AIWB. I have only seen one person, Ken Hawthorn, drawn from a 5 o' cock position. I have not been able to find AIWB comfortable no matter where I position it. So ask Scoot or A.J. move there gun to the side or use an instructor who wears his CCW on his side.
Check out hidden hybrid holsters. They have amazing options for every point of carry. I had your exact same issue but hiddenhybridholsters completely changed everything for the better! It's a leather / kydex holster but on the back portion that touches your body is like a felt material that's softer than bunny fur. The kydex allows for a custom fit plus a retention system that allows you to set your own retention pressure on the fly while the backing leather allows for a nice, form fitting system to your body while the soft felt feels like a nice, soft and cool material on your skin. I've went through probably a dozen holsters for each of my main carry, "glock 19 & s&w M&P shield plus". I wish I found out about hidden hybrid holsters a long time ago. I wont go with another company ever again! Hope this helps!
Yeah man I’m tall and I’ve definitely caught myself slouching as I present, I finally filmed myself and saw how bad it actually is!!! 🤦 the worst part is my shots were quick and accurate but I looked like a complete idiot haha 😂
Who cares if some don't believe you carry a 2011 Those negative Nancy's will always shit on someone else. Since their life is shit and cant buy a 2011 Keep doing you bro
Slow is slow. Scott emphasizes urgent and careful rather than slow or fast. Just cause you’re doing something slow doesn’t mean you’re doing it better or smoother.
@@jimmybrodriguez True, but over time you with repititions should be naturally speed up with "muscle memory". I wish I could take the class. They will be down here in November, but they are sold out. $500 and 1k rounds is a lot for me right now.
@@douglassalley9117 I don't see why not if that is what you have. I only have 9mm, I should train with 9mm since that is my EDC. Why spend hundreds for a .22 pistol when that can go towards 9mm ammo?

Holy Moly his explanation is so awesome. I absolutely catch my dot sooner after watching this video.
Awesome video series! A lot to learn, can’t wait to take my first class and be able to learn hands on.
Thanks for posting these videos. Scott’s explanation are amazing!
Thank you for posting! I want to go through the course now. One day!!
Excellent concise objective instruction.

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing this.
Great series!
Yes can u put as much info u can and of course with the blessing of sifu
You might be covering it in the future but I would be interested to hear how you can conceal a full size 2011 comfortably. Love the content!
I conceal a sig vtac with a x300 ... It's easy
I carry a G17 every day. It's all about the belt and the holster.
Yeah I’ll show it in a future video
Great video as usual. BTW Jordan’s are fresh! I need to work on Red dot acquisition! 👍🏽
Wow these are amazing videos, thank you for posting. I always hear him say pinky pressure, is that from shooting hand or support hand?
haha, That is Geoff K! I taught him to skydive!
Do gear info, curious what he says about it.

What 2011 handgun and red dot do you have ?
Pls post Scotts training info in a link. Thanks
It’s in the description
Is this grip he teaches an issue inadvertently actuating the slide catch? or it depends on the gun or is an none issue?
