Diana Ankudinova was only 15 during this performance of Wicked Game for this performance on May 12, 2019. Some reactors have asked if Diana Ankudinova was using Auto-Tune during this performance. The general consensus of many more vocal professionals, recording sound engineers, not just reactors are saying no; there is no auto-tune being used. What many do not know is Diana Ankudinova has mastered and is using a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing which is hard to learn and do. and is an extraordinary accomplishment for someone this young. A singer that has mastered this polyphonic singing technique can create one, and up to two different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones, and can make it sound like more than one voice singing which results in many mistakenly believing she is using Auto-Tune or some other form of electronic voice manipulation or pitch correction software when she is not. This performance was her second appearance on a talent show for disadvantaged teens called You Are Super and concluded with her winning the competition after giving this mesmerizing performance.
The year prior in 2018, when Diana was 14, she appeared in the You Are Super competition singing the Russian folk song, Rechenka which she performed in her native Russian language. It was during this 2018 performance of Rechenka that voice professionals started paying serious attention to Diana because she was using low, rich, deep, and resonant sounds, and she had all the hallmarks to become a true contralto, plus her musicality and stage presence was well beyond her years. It was no surprise when Diana was declared the winner in 2018, but no one was prepared for a full contralto sound the following year in 2019 when during You Are Super she performed Wicked Game in 2019, a competition she also won.

In 2019 Diana sang this song in the singing competition 'You are super' (she was 15 years old). This competition is unique in the world, an international TV- competition, especially for adopted and orphaned children.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered this unique competition and won twice.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to TH-cam and soon she had millions of fans. She called us Friends.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here in "You are Super" as a juror, gave Diana a small apartment (37m²/ 398 ft²) in Moscow with the words: Live and sing!
There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020). Now she is taught by the great Alexandra Pismennaya, who was a student of Prof. Donskoy.
*Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is also a sponsor and a juror in this competition. His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash Qudaibergen. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. Krutoy is also still in touch with Diana and he introduced her to Brandon Stone. The result: 1st CD in December 2021 and in June 2022 there was a gold disc.

Greetings from Scotland! Nobody has ever heard a voice like Diana's inimitable, unique dramatic contralto! When she also naturally produces polyphonic tones it sounds like she has her own backing singers! She can sing a capella and it still sounds like there is music playing! Over the years I have witnessed the impossible come out of this young ladies larynx! 😊 I have heard many professional theories but in reality, nobody knows how this type of singing is remotely possible, yet Diana was born with this unique ability. Truly, this young lady was "born to be a singer!" Great reaction!
