I recently found out that my great uncle on my Dad's side owned the American Candy Company in Battersea England in the 1800's. They had a few shops. They made all their own confectionery. I love watching your family making sweets and imagining what my relatives must have been like.
Probably just as many Dad jokes! It's a very important requirement for making candy

That reference was when someone wanted Free samples for a wedding. Your mom refused and said she'd sell her some candy but no free. Lady then said she'd report her to Corporate. Your mom then made the reference to her mom.

kind of like saying "go ahead. I am corporate" I can't stand people who think just because they want something "like free candy for their wedding" that they should get it. Now I can understand the woman wanting to sample a piece of the candy she was thinking of buying for her wedding to make sure she liked it and her guest would like it but more than that I agree with the mom. It kind of makes you laugh when someone threatens to report you to corporate or tries to play like they know the owner but you know 100% that they don't because they are talking to the owner and threatening to report her to the owner lol. It is kind of like how while watching the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders making the team the women trying out for the team are brought before a panel of judges and one of the judges ask one of the women if she knows who owns the football team.. the woman admits she doesn't and then one of the other judges ask the same woman if she knows who the woman is that asked her the question. The woman admits she doesn't when all the while the judge that asked her about who the owner is, just so happens to be Charlotte Jones (the daughter of Jerry Jones who owns that Cowboys) I personally think if you are going to apply for a job you should know at least a little about the company.

Like Bob Ross used to say: there are no mistakes - just happy little accidents. Or so it goes.
I've been binging this channel again and I have no shame. At this point its not for the chocolate or candy or asmr, but for the people, for the conversations, for the smiling faces, for the comradery to achieve the same goal. It's happiness, it's calming, it's what I wish I had growing up and even now as an adult.

I like that you show the successful batches and the not so successful batches.
Max if definitely showing all the knowledge Steve taught him and is building on that. When you guys decide to potentially expand Max is for sure going to be key in that. It just shows how good of a job Steve and everyone does to see Max’s development.
Max can take on more and more tasks as there may be retirement for some in the not to distant future..
Yeah, sadly they have said Steve will retire in a few years (I guess anyone who reachea eligible age for Medicare & Social Security starts planning their retirement seriously, bc why not?). I thinl Terry will work a good more years, as they said she's a few years younger than Steve.

Max is on his way to being the Boss! He's actively involved in every step. Critically thinking through it all. He cares about the details and the finished product. He's constantly figuring it all out to the point he sometimes makes Steve look like the newbie! 😆 Crazy to see how far Max has come.
Steve is giving him the opportunity to think it out until Max doesn't go the way he wants then he takes over. But when Max has a great idea he goes with it great teacher.

This is my dream candy! I was going crazy looking for it in the web page since I'm going to NY next week (I live in Ecuador) and I can finally order and try some Hercules candies. Then I saw its not being sold 😅. Anyway, I'm sure I'll love all the candy I'll order.

I always loved filled hard candy when I was a kid even though you had a failure it was an excellent effort and appreciated that hand work of making that tube is amazing
Going back to this video. One sweet/candy we get over here in UK are 'Strawberry Sherbets', which is just strawberry flavoured hard candy filled with a sherbert filling (which is a sweet sour sugary powder). I've never really seen any other fruit versions of this candy but would be a good thing to try.

Chocolate filled candy and straws are an old time candy. My parents speak of it often and try to find it. The ones found in the stores today are not the same. Little pillows and long, thin straws are what they get when we can find them. Mass manufactured ones are in cardboard tube containers. Hopefully a way is found as these are really sought after. :)

Have you tried placing unmelted chocolate or chocolate that's reached the squishy temperature? I'm sure that the candy will heat it up enough to work, also maybe try rolling the log instead of the triangle to try and keep an even shell on the heating mat.
Now you mentioned that Australian company Sticky I think they must be the rock candy store I visited at The Rocks in Sydney when I was a kid

Sticky is an Australian candy company started in a December 2001 by partners Dave & Rachel. They call their candy “lollies”. They have other locations owned by others located in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, The United States, Cambodia, Saudi Arabia and Mexico. The US store is in California and is not yet open as it’s being relocated Craig and Dave are partners is the US shop. Dave has said he has sent Hercules a couple emails with no reply. Would be cool if y’all could do a candy challenge.

I have only just watched this video. I didn't know you had attempted chocolate candy when I sent you a few goodies from the UK to try,recently.
If you break the chocolate limes I sent ,you can see that the chocolate is like a candy chocolate as it is slightly crystaly( Don't know if that is a word.lol).
Maybe this is how it doesnt burst.
