I'm not entirely sure, but this version is the original version. The Japanese single of this song came out a few months later and was used in the intro for 5D's. So everyone who says that the Japanese version is the original version is mistaken. However, both versions are great!
hello from 13 years in the future, hope you're doing well! Just mentioning on your comment in case anyone is still interested this far along. LAST TRAIN was indeed originally an English song. The original English demo was on their 4th demo CD from 2005. In 2008 the English version was released on "Ghost of The Freedom" in June, then the Japanese single was released in October. After that, the Japanese version was also included on the 2009 album "Sing against the stream"! The "Last Train - classic demo -" from the 2014 compilation album "MY PROLOGUE" doesn't have a confirmed date, but it's also English.
I went to one of their live shows in Tokyo last March. I was waiting for this song and expected the Japanese version but they played the English version which was weird. It was a good show, though.
