Retirement becomes truly rewarding when you have two key components: a solid financial foundation and a clear sense of purpose. Making wise investment decisions is crucial to achieving strong returns and enjoying a secure retirement.

Rising costs have impacted my original plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and grow my savings. I can't help but wonder if those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time compared to the challenges I’m currently facing. Market volatility, combined with a lower income, has me concerned about having enough for a comfortable retirement.

You’re absolutely correct-financial advisors have access to strategies and opportunities that aren’t always available to the general public. I earned £560k in 2022 with guidance from my fiduciary advisor. Am I cashing out? Definitely not. I’m taking a step back to watch how the market evolves.

Thank you for the recommendation. I did some research on Rebecca Lynne Buie, and fortunately, I found her details. My goal is to retire in five years, and I’m hoping her expertise can help me make that a reality.

This was a fun video. I'm a few years from retiring, but my husband is retiring next week. He's wanting to take up fly fishing. I'm becoming a planner person. There are so many choices! Thanks for sharing your journey.

Melinda, how funny that your hobby is "planners, journals, pens, etc". I think my hobby is budgeting! When I thought about it while watching your video, I realized that I LOVE budgeting. I budget at least 3-6 months in advance. I just LOVE it. I like to see where I am going. Maybe, I see it as security. It is fun for me! Just this morning I knew my electric bill was dropping, so I got to my desk early to be able to see what is was for last month. It dropped over $50 from last month. That thrills me! I know....weird. I just love saving money. It helps me believe that we will make it through retirement (3 years/3 months and counting) with no investments. Any way....love your channel. See you soon!

You canpri t off the passport application at home, gather all your documents. Then make an appt at the post office which includes a photo, it costs a few $ more but saves a trip. It was actually quite easy.

    Melinda,
We got a passport several years ago at the post office. I think it has to be a larger post office that does them. It cost us about $250 each, and it took about 6 weeks to get it. I think they are good for 10 years.
I am enjoying your channel. I love planners too.
