    Very well, I'm done and it has been very good to me. I also set limit switches. I shared your video in a thread

      Where did you placed the limit switches on the electrical scheme/chart?

      between the speed regulator and the engine

      is it possible to do this with the 120cm version of the slider?

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gershon Dharmanandan Probably, just adjust the length of the belt

    Thomas would it be possible to put two switches (one at both ends) to make the slider constantly go in alternating directions when the cameras plate the edge it hits the switch and reverses polarity so that I could set it up and just let it go?

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, don't see why not :). Not sure of the chart though.

    Can you tell me if its possible to put the DSLR on the Jack connecteur for use the intervallometer with Magic Lantern ?

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess you can make ML trigger the cam, and another intervalometer trigger the slider. Not sure ML can trigger the slider though.

      In about 2-3 weeks I'm planning to build this for myself but I want to make some changes ( mainly I want the intervalometer to trigger the camera and the slider - so you don't have to fiddle with 2 intervalometers ). If anyone is interested I can share any changes made to the design :)

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have long exposures, the simultane triggering of slider and camera will cuse image-blur as the slider moves while the shutter responds. That is why I have 2 intervalometers triggering the slider and the camera one at a time.

    • @bikervlad
      @bikervlad 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thomas Øverbø with what I have in mind, one intervalometer will control both the camera ( x sec exposure ) and move it inbetween shots :)

    Hi Thomas, can you explain how did you attach the belt mount to the moving plate? Thanks!

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +BackOnElectone Hi, it is not attached to the plate, but pushes the plate on both sides making the belt capable of sliding the plate. Check the video at 1:18 or follow this link www.servocity.com/html/xl_belt_mount_b__585538_.html#.VpStZFmIDxN

      +Thomas Øverbø Thanks you! That make sense now. I'm going to start ordering part and hopefully it will go smoothly.

    Hi, excellent job Thomas, and with low cost parts.
    I was just wondering (maybe I did not understand everything) how do you insure that you carriage does hit the end (at each left/right) and damage the motor or the whole construction?
    Is there an automatic protection or you have to be very careful when camera reaches the end of the course?

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I guess you have to pay attention in the end, but a sensor on each side breaking the batterypower is possible.

    How is the camera supposed to be synced with the motor intervalometer to take the picture at the same time, every time it stops moving?

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, cam and slide rmust operate every other time, you can start them with a few seconds appart with the same interval. Cam must be still when taking pictures.

  • @titustucan9654
    @titustucan9654 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Thomas, you are saying that in time lapse mode the camera should not shoot while the motor is moving; this is true, but it that means you have to use 2 intervalometers, one for the camera one for the slider, right? and they should also be set in a such a way they don't act in the same time. Is this the case for you, you are using 2 intervalometers?

  • @titustucan9654
    @titustucan9654 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Thomas. Just a short question. What is the distance that you have in mm between the lower part of the sliding red carriage and the black base bar. On my slider I have about 10-11mm. I have the feeling that the XL belt will touch both up and down. Is this happening to you? I might have to go for a belt that is less high like a 6mm.

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it touches both slightly on mine , but i doesn not matter much since the friction is minimal. Changing belt might be a good solution for you of you encounter heavy friction or if the belt skews too much.

    Is there a video on the build - motor mount and pulleys etc.? Or blog?

      Just trying to figure out the spinning end - You have 2 shaft cams - one on the top and one at the bottom on the shaft - where do the 2 pinched bearings go? It is hard to tell in the video. Would love to see a little diagram - even if it is drawn with pencil - Thanks

    High Tomas, I received the switch to isolate the intervalometer today it has four pins and I have no idea how to wire it I am not sure if it is the same one you used although it looks the same can you help. Thanks Barry

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it should be one for ground, one for shutter and one for focus. Do you have a picture of it somwhere?

    • @barry10ish
      @barry10ish 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Thomas, It,s not the intervalomter it is the switch to turn the intervalometer off.

      Ah ok, a regular on off switch should have just 2 pins, does it have multiple properties? You can just try them out to see who works or not.

    • @barry10ish
      @barry10ish 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it does but it will work as a normal on off switch it was the four pins that threw me as I do not know a lot about electrics I just want to do the same as you. Thanks for your help Thomas Kind regards Barry

    Hi!
    I just wondering that how long does it take a planned time when the track moves from one end to another when the speed controller is for the little ones with out the intervalometer

      Veeti Valkama hi, not sure as I have sold the slider now.

      LostMyFinger Hi, I ordered in mm, not sure what happened. Try this converter www.metric-conversions.org/length/millimeters-to-inches.htm or you can contact servocity at www.servocity.com/html/service.html regarding the ball bearings and dimensions. Cheers

      Thomas Øverbø I am trying to use glide gear dev-1000 instead of sd-1, it's similar except the 2 holes on the far end

    • @thomasoverbo
      @thomasoverbo  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool, does it seem to work?

    • @Auggie246

      still building, btw you motor only moves when the intervalometer "snaps" a photo right

      LostMyFinger I innstalled a switch making it possible to turn it on or off (03:17)
