That was an ode to Eazy E who discovered them in 1993. Eazy E passed away from Aids in 1995 and they remade their song Crossroad to honor him and some other's in their life that passed away
Technically, Eazy didn't discover Bone, they sought him out and kept calling the office until the secretary got fed up and made sure that Eazy E called them back. And the rest is Bone fan history.
There’s five members: Krayzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Layzie Bone, Flesh n Bone, and Wish Bone. They’re from Cleveland, Ohio and Eazy E was their mentor who signed them to his record label Ruthless Records and got them recognized. They met in 1993 but shortly after Eazy died in 1995. Tha crossroads pays respect to Eazy and some of their other family/friends who sadly passed away. This song won them a Grammy and broke records btw!!!
This is the MOST VERSATILE rap group of all time. Not one song sounds the same with them although they do rap fast and harmonically. Example: days of our lives is drastically different than notorious thugs
This version of “Tha Crossroads” is actually the remix to an original Crossroads record. The original was dedicated to their good friend Wally who was murdered while breaking up a fight back in their hometown. Wally was considered the member of the group who didn’t rap or sing. He toured with them, went everywhere with them and took care of them on the road. After Wally passed and the original was released, they continued to suffer major losses. Wish Bone’s uncle Charlie was shot and murdered, Layzie Bone and his wife lost a son at birth and Krayzie Bone’s cousin, a member of Mo Thugs records group called Graveyard Shift, was also murdered. Then they lost Eazy E, who is credited as giving them their start in the music industry and mentoring them early in their careers. Eazy E is the person who suggested adding the “Thugs N Harmony” to their name after they recorded a song of the same title. In the first lines of the record, Bizzy Bone raps “First off, this is for Wally, Eazy, C’s uncle Charlie, Little Boo, but God’s got them and I’m gonna miss everybody” Perfect introduction to the record. Because of his voice and the quick flow, most ppl don’t understand that’s he’s naming everyone the song is a tribute to right from the start.

The list of underground artists I could list for you is insane. This genre holds some of the most lyrically gifted people you'll ever encounter. Tech Nine, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Jurassic 5, Heiroglyphics, Delton 3030, Del the Funky Homosapian, Dead Prez, Brother Ali, Immortal Technique, A Tribe Called Quest... The list goes on and on... I'm a huge metalhead my whole life. Slipknot, Pantera, Mudvayne, Sevendust etc., but once I found this genre, I never looked back!
Here is a good list of older hip-hop songs that were pivotal Tupac - California Love NWA - Straight Outta Compton Warren G - Regulate Blackstreet - No Diggity Montel Jordan - This is how we do it
I got hooked on bone thugs in 2000. Extremely talented guys...their unique look and mystique, smooth harmonising vocals combined with the gangsterism, on amazing beats. The best rap group EVER

This video cut two things out one it cut the mom screaming about her child being you know Spirit been taken away you can imagine why maybe that was too gruesome or what but it seemed like that's a deleted scene or maybe they took that out it's kind of hard to find on TH-cam but the other part that was cut off is when the sky opened up and of booming voice says well done my son which we have to assume that's God and perhaps the guy with the wings who is collecting everybody's spirits must was Jesus
