I'm training myself we are 3 years into it and I am learning a ton about dogs. My sister has a cane corseo crossed with a borbeol. So looking forward to meeting her. A question. We want to move to the forest as we have property. Big question is a guard dog but teaching the dog to back off when his or her life is threatened. We have bear and coyote problems, wolves are here as well. Also human thieves, bigger then the animals. We want a smart dog, but a guard dog. I realize they have to be inside in winter. For 1 boerbel it's okay but still, you will need 2- 3 hours per day to take the dog outside for long walks and other exercise. If you don't do that the dogs will be stressed and become sad. In this video, you can see most of those dogs are sad

Its torture,the best way to keep dogs is in a farm or ranch where they have plenty of space to run around and interact with nature.
Then the best dog kennels are the free range types where the dog can get in the kennel when it wants and can roam around the fenced kennel when they want to bask.
Its best to cage dogs when visitors are around or when other domestic animals like poultry are roaming around.
Any other time the dogs should just be free as opposed to caging them all day long.

Different people keep dogs for different needs and reason and to be honest in our environments people keep them for security purposes and can't leave dogs that can attack people to loiter freely. Also it's good to be noted that they do exercise their dogs frequently.
