Forests can be beautiful places and Britain has many forests and parks that can look incredible... but British people have no respect for their own land anymore and throw waste and junk everywhere, it's shameful. Even the beautiful rivers (that are toxic thanks to corporate dumping) are devoid of fish, but have the odd Tesco/Morrisons trolley dumped in there, along with other junk and rubbish. People should be respectful to the land, the forest, the sky and the rivers, all things have spirits and are worthy of compassion.
And people don't recycle paper/card to return it into manufacture. Just dump in the general bin or on road sides to rot. Also, every time I look at the paracetamol boxes containing only 6 tablets and an A4 sheet of instructions, both in a good quality card box, I think about the waste of the limited resources we have. It's with every regular medication.
Yeah, after over 200 years of making ridiculous profits on it and millions of people enslaved It baffles me that people have this knee jerk reaction of 'buh-but we abolished it!!!' when Britain's role in the slave trade is mentioned, like that somehow makes it okay that we did it in the first place?
Only after trading in some well over couple million slaves Compensating slave owners before freeing said slaves And then finally demonising slavery when committed by other countries The effects of the British empire can be felt all over the world for better and for worse, and for worse for far too many
I still dont know why we've not banned wood totally. It's an ascetic firstly and secondly, it's a money saver, apparently as why else has it not been totally banned. You can't claim wood is an essential to the building trade as there other more expensive substitutions. Until the governments stop doing cooperations favours for their profits plastics and wood wont get the proper banning that is needed.
@@liammiskell3522 I think they are trying to say wood should be banned which is the stupidest conclusion you could possibly come to considering it and a renewable resource
Stupid idea, you need wood for alot of other things other than building, but if we didn't use it for building we'd have to use non renewable resources, it is renewable but not as much as things like wind power
Heinous things, like abolishing slavery, spreading liberalism and promoting global trade and capitalism, thereby uplifting standards of living? Let's not forget about education and healthcare too.
I’d like you to have what you deserve: affordable housing, good education, effective healthcare and land to enjoy yourself on - like most other developed nations have. Class consciousness never hurt anyone
@maxdavis7722 everywhere has its flaws. If I was to look at anywhere else a lot of Scandinavia has very high quality of living and solid policies to prevent citizens being costed out of housing - I think this is the most fundamental problem in the UK as high rents prevent normal people from accruing wealth to pass on to their kids and from spending money on goods and services in their local community. They also have some other interesting policies: Norway established a sovereign wealth fund from its fossil fuel reserves rather than selling off assets for short term gain which benefits them to this day and means taxes don’t have to be as high for normal working people (22% flat rate vs the UK’s progressive 32.5, 42.5 and 47.5 + up to 16% in student loans repayments in the uk). They also tax capital gains, income and business income at the same rate which is fundamentally more fair and it incentivises productivity. In reality though I don’t think we can or should aim to be like another country. We should just be the best version of the UK by prioritising investing in the people who call it home so they can live a good life and contribute to the economy by being happy, healthy and educated. Probably slightly too idealistic but there are lots of political levers which can be pulled to improve everybody’s lives. It will just take a long time and successive governments from every axis on the political spectra sharing a common goal
what UK calls a forest, places like finland call it a three square meters of bushes.

Also did alot of amazing things with them ships too.. don't be too hard on our ancestors, they were living the time they were in ✌️
We not only apologised for slavery but we spent the equivalent of billions of pounds stopping the trade.
