Samina Yaghouti I'm not sure I've come across that. Again, this is just how the University of Nebraska notates their music. There are other variations and definitely implements that weren't covered here. If a composer has a marking you're not sure about, I'd encourage you to reach out to them or ask your director what they think would sound best for those notes.
I've watched A LOT of videos about how to notate things for band and yours was by far the most concise, easy to follow and well done. Good for you!
