Jack Jackson’s Band is still such a true pleasure to hear...one of my most favorite 1930s recordings is his version of “It Happened in the Moonlight”...pop music at its best...one of “those” you’ll find yourself humming and whistling after your first listening...talk about a great foxtrot-oh, my!

Wonderful set of tunes. My favourite is I travel alone. Though it was difficult to choose. Thank you for sharing 🌞❤️👍

Bob, it's great to find you shining the spotlight on Jack's versatile band! As always, your choices present an accurate representation of this outfit's wide range. I have to put Gosh I Must Be Falling In Love, Dixie Lee and Most Of Ev'ry Day at the top of my list -- very snazzy arrangements. ... And like Henri, I first heard the cute Dixie Lee in Jimmie Noone's hot treatment.

Bob, I have been enjoyed this awesome Jack Jackson set all these days without time to write how wonderful it is, and realizing too, how difficult is to choose just one recording among the others. All are so beautiful in its own way, from the hottest “Dixie Lee” to the touching “Don’t You Cry When We Say Goodbye” . We have talked before how great was 1934 in music, and here we have one proof. Jackson is at his best!

Great to hear from you Han! I have a number of Jack's records and I like his lively performances. I bet he would have been a great show to see as he seems to have been quite a character.

Thank you for sharing this excellent selection of Jack Payne recordings. I think tracks 2 and 4 are my favourites, but It is difficult to be decisive on this occasion.

[2] => Jimmie Noone (who introduced me to this very upbeat tune), the Casa Loma Orchestra, Valaida Snow, Sid Peltyn and His Orchestra (the first to wax it). And although _Dixie Lee_ was apparently *not* crooned into a microphone by Bing Crosby, he at least _married_ her.
