The time has finally come for us to leave the UK and travel to Europe in our self converted campervan! If you have followed us for a while you will know that the decision to travel during a global pandemic has not been an easy one, but with no sign of it letting up just yet, where better to isolate that our own little tiny home on wheels!
After 8 long months converting our panel van into a campervan, and the long wait during lockdown, we are very excited to hit the road and take our tiny house to France.. and then..who knows! This week we find some stunning wild camping park ups in france, and are amazed at how liberal their attitude is to wild camping.

@@campervibe Oh so cool, we're bikers really and never thought I'd so fall in love with our lovely Van! We're getting the cat used to travelling in the Van (so far he is fine being in her, especially when I'm quietly painting in her, but driving in her not so much yet..), but it's travelling around with over-reacting people to Vanners at the moment that puts us off (but won't for long). We are also doing th house slowly up for renting out at some point so no huge rush. You guys encountered any issues? (Must watch more of your videos, this was my 1st as we want to go to Spain, even learning the lingo!)
@@a.mcdonald1393 we have a cat too, who we are getting used to the van, although she's with my mum this time as we thought with the pandemic, and people's bad attitude it was the wrong time to take the risk of her wandering off in a foreign country. Although we needn't have worried, the attitude of people over here (so far) has bee far different to that odlf the people in the UK. Not sure if that will change as the pandemic gets worse but for now we have had no issues at all 😁🤞

It was lovely to see the excitement on Em's face at the beginning, and did I also detect a trace of excitement from you, Lou? I'm so glad you decided to go on your adventure. I remember a few weeks ago you weren't sure what to do. You are right, driving here in France is a joy, and no-one bothers about parked up vans, unlike the UK. So, we are being treated to two vlogs a week. That's awesome! The weather up here in the north is terrible at the moment, I hope it improves as you work your way south. xx
Hi deb, yep, that's about as excited as I get lol!! You're right about the weather, was really hoping to spend some time up there but it was worse than the UK lol! We are currently just north of Lyon and trying to decide ardeche or alps, Emily wants to get straight to Spain where it is sunny lol!

I did the train tunnel to France. I found it hilarious to look out the window watching the tunnel personnel drinking coffee, flipping switches, looking at panels, chatting and having a laugh.

Looking forward to sharing your travels. The map footage is helpful. I enjoy seeing/shopping in the smaller cities and looking at the tranquil countryside as the deer walked around. I especially enjoy seeing AJ. Why do you have reflective vests?
Thank you, we too prefer the smaller places. The vests are mandatory in France, they're hidden away now but had them there for the initial crossing, in case we got stopped.

Great vlog once again, am sitting indoors on the cold, wet and very windy island you left behind, so weather wise about the same, but you are hopefully heading to some sunshine and warmth. Ladies, what great news, so so pleased for you. What a positive story. How wonderful you are donating the money to an animal shelter, I personally am very delighted for my Fanny money to go there (we are thinking about ‘rescuing’ a post-Covid dog, we would LOVE a dog, just not sure Tom (cat) would.. Also we will be fostering cats for our local shelter to try help). Animals are always and forever duped by bloody humans, poor sods... Can not lie; will miss you ladies but indeed you must take a break. See you whenever you are ready and enjoy xxxx

Woo hoo Roadtrip lol. Great to see you are going for it. Not sure which way you are going? But if you get down the south of france, can i recommend argeles sur mere and especially collioure. We usually go the first few weeks of september and the castle and harbour area at night is stunning..... Street artists, musicians, market stalls and the castle all lit up at night. Not sure if it will be the same with all this covid malarky? but it is a beautiful area any way. Have fun, stay safe and Enjoy.....👍👍

Lovely vlog and glad that you've 'gone for it'. I've missed my trips to France this year, lived in Paris for a few years but I much prefer the French countryside and smaller towns and completely agree with you that if you're not in a rush, the N roads are good and you can admire and discover some smaller places.

No we did actually go off with our window open and only noticed when we watched it on the final cut! Lessons have been learnt, I have done us a check list! 👍

@@votronimatic normally we would, just had to get the dog walked and filming done in a very short break in the rain. We are usually extra careful lol!

Hi we returned on the day you left after 5 weeks travelling through France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. Not sure what route you are taking but the Verdon Gorge is amazing with fantastic scenic roads, great video

We live in Bournemouth so we nip over nearly every year in our VW T4. Never had a bad visit. Always try and speak the lingo though - they like that. Have a great time ladies.

Never take chancers but yeah it's big in France, love the way you've kitted out the van. You'll have to get the dog 🐶 trained up to hunt for truffles and make some big money haha
