I consider Dimash the singer of the millennium, as no-one can do what he does in so many genres of music. And I've found no-one in history that is his equal.
The author of the song's lyrics, Goro Matsui, wrote: "I've heard 'Ikanaide' performed many times by foreign singers in their native language, but this is the first time someone sings it so beautifully in Japanese." The Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020 composition "Samaltau" is on Dimash's TH-cam channel. The song was recorded in Dimash's home studio during quarantine, a folk song in Kazakh... sounds of folk instruments kobyz and sybyzga and strong voice of Dimash...🙏дальше❤
I always loved Ikanaide more than Autumn Strong, to me they are completely different, even though the melody is the same. Dimash has performed these two mixed in his concerts, I wish to hear a complete Ikanaide one day ❤️
I often watch your reaction, and I like your admiration and love for Dimash. I totally agree. Thanks to both of you. I'd like to add one thing. “The silence between the notes is as important as the notes themselves.” - Mozart said. Teach your student to listen to the pauses, Teacher Paul, and perhaps pay more attention to them yourself. What a pity that you both missed the beautiful silence before the final phrase and did not listen to the end of the song! Dimash is a master of timing! His pauses and delays are a precious part of his performances. Musicians must understand this.
I love this version. It is The Tokyo Jazz Festival. I actually saw the stage performance of this before he had to take it down and I didn't download it so, sorry. It was different and pretty spectacular. Should be able to buy it somewhere. I like watching reactions where the emotional response is true and genuine. I can see you both love music. Thank you for what you do.
@@user-pv7pk5nh3k I mean the actual performance for the festival, with him being 'live' on 'the stage' in front of an audience. That was put up on TH-cam for like a day, then was made to take it down by the festival itself. Then he recorded this for his channel. Hope that helped clear up the distinction.
Autumn Strong is a song he performs that uses the same melody but in Chinese. In concert, he has been known to start the song in Chinese and switch to Japanese and then back to Chinese again.
This was for the Tokyo Jazz Festival 2021, which was honoring Koji Tamaki, composer and singer of this song. He is singing this in Japanese. Koji says he did a great job. Other people have sung this song but none in Japanese, so Koji was quite pleased! 😊
Why oh why do you cut off the end just because he is done singing? It is not the end of the performance. Please show respect for the whole arrangement. 💞

Thanks for reacting to this lovely cover. To me, this is his most beautiful song. This is the only song he has done (they're all good!) that has brought me to tears.
This version "Ikanaide" (行かないで) ) is the original, from 1989, composed by Koji Tamaki (famous Japanese singer, born in 1958) with lyrics by Goro Matsui. The version "Autumn Strong" (Late Autumn), sung in Chinese, uses the same song, but has another lyrics (Yaqui Cheung, from 1993) and another theme: It talks about the Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamagushi, very dear to the Chinese, who was deported when they discovered her Japanese origin (his real name was Li Xiang Lan and we're talking about World War II, where Japan was China's enemy) and never returned to China. In the original version, the lyrics are more intimate, sentimental and more recognized worldwide. It means: "Please don't go!". For those who want to know the original work, just check this video: th-cam.com/video/2j3ab7cu_30/w-d-xo.html
I believe the Chinese version was the original (though I could be wrong), which he sang at the 2017 vocal contest. Most people there knew the song, and the backstory is quite sad. Actually, he sang it in a dialect more difficult that Chinese. As of the end of 2023, 14 languages, Spanish being the most recent. Here are three that will surprise you: th-cam.com/video/tA3d8Xj4M5s/w-d-xo.html Dimash Qudaibergen, Lara Fabian, Aida Garifullina - Ti amo cosi th-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/w-d-xo.html Be With Me th-cam.com/video/50SonlJfIUM/w-d-xo.html Proof he can sing ANY genre (Yes, even rap) :^)
😂it is indeed the original version , Dimash performed this because he wanted to honour the original singer n poss creator, having sung it in Chinese whilst on the singer comp. Love this version. The original singer, Japanese was so pleased to hear Dimash do that. He also said that Dimash's japaneze was perfect and that Dimashs performance was far beyond others attempts at sining it. U cut off the ending of his performance!!! Unsubscribing!
C'est le + GRAND CHANTEUR de notre époque OUI absolument!!!!

And now you need to react to Samaltau, he performanced this in the Tokio Jazz Festival too, it's amazing.
Paul, he combines the 2 songs in some of his concerts Autumn Strong and Ikanaide and it’s very special 🇺🇸❤️🇰🇿

Salmatau is another from the Tokyo Jazz festival, which is a traditional Kazakh song. I think you will appreciate it.

Yes. They cut off one of the most touching moments in the video. Sad.
