This is EXCELLENT! I was just trying to explain to my husband how I feel exactly this way. :) Loved the comparison of flat feet and tippy toes too. Great content. Thank you!

now - how do we go from hyper vigilant about other people and refocus that hyper vigilance into a tool used for monitoring our own selves - in other words i would rather be vigilant about my self care, having the right job doing my exercises buying myself the right clothing etc so that i can have a good job and an apartment etc.. than to worry about upsetting others and then therefore remaining stuck nearby others or living with them for far too long such as into our twenties and thirties where they continue to manipulate and abuse you further to reinforce the conditioning. i think people know they are making you hyper vigilant and they do it over and over again to keep it going to keep you under their thumb and manipulated. dont know why they do it - bc i'm not crazy like that.

Intentionally redirecting your attention, over and over again, will redirect your energy. Give no attention or energy to what's unwanted and shift your focus to your self-care and growth now instead. I’d suggest making statement with a full-body decision that you can remind yourself of with confidence when you're focusing on the negative people or circumstances like, 'prioritizing my well-being is too important to me for me to worry what others are thinking'
Also...manipulative people tend to be less inclined to manipulate when they notice your focus is no longer on them or the fear they’re causing you.
