Hola from Raquel and Hayley - Come and explore with us three fabulous Andalucian villages in the province of Cordoba
Situated in the heart of Andalucia and in the Subbetica Natural Park we have the three white villages of El Cañuelo, Fuente Tojar and Castil de Campos. Raquel and Hayley have been out and about exploring these villages for you so you can get a better idea on what village life is like and of course the amenities you have. They start in the Hamlet of El Cañuelo which has around 150 inhabitants, with a local bar, doctors and church this is a peaceful location surrounded by olive groves and rolling mountains. From El Cañuelo only 1km away we have the larger village of Fuente Tojar, the village offers everything you need from local supermarkets, banks and a municipal swimming pool. There are just over 700 inhabitants here with a mixture of both Spanish and an expat community. Only 2km away we come across the village of Castil de Campos with 700 inhabitants, a little like Fuente Tojar with all the basic amenities but situated in the mountain side boasting stunning views of the countryside. Between all three locations you have a maximum of 2km and when looking on the map they are in a triangular shape.
The best thing about the location of these villages is that they are all a 10-15 minute drive away from the historical and popular town of Priego de Cordoba with over 22,000 inhabitants. With major supermarkets, weekly markets and events this is a huge bonus to have on your doorstep as well as the lovely lake of Iznajar with man made beach only a 45 minute drive away. Whoever said that living INLAND did not have things to offer was wrong, INLAND is the best place to live as you have little treasures to explore without the need to drive for hours and hours!
