    Thank you! I was looking for a little thank you gift for a man who did some professional work for us. This is perfect. Just a little "we appreciate you".

    I still haven't gone through the boxes of books. I hope to start in early 2024. But I will be making these corner bookmarks this weekend to go with Christmas presents. 😊

      They are super quick and easy project. You could make them while waiting for dinner to cook 😉

    I made these bookmarks a few years ago for my daughter-in-law’s Pre-K class. She was looking for something green to give them for St. Patrick’s Day so used only green novelty fabric (dinosaurs, trees, frogs, etc). The kids loved them. I’d like to think it encouraged them to read more.📚

      That’s wonderful. I know that young kids love to get handmade things in school.

      That’s brutal. On days like that I close the house up tight and stay inside. Those are sewing days not mowing days.

    Hello! I hope you had a fun day. I just got to sit down with my hand quilting and watch your video. I always learn something new from you so thank you very much for that. I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Thank you for posting this video and sharing your time and talent.

      Several people left great ideas in the comments for these little bookmarks. Schools, libraries, seniors centers. All great places to make bookmarks for. I like the idea of randomly placing them in library books for people to find.

    Thanks for this tutorial on a great project! I am finally caught up! (At least until the next time I get behind. 😉🤣🤣🤣)
    I can use this as quick little projects during breaks in my next big non-craft project: going through our massive personal library of books to determine which ones to keep and which to donate. I can then donate the bookmarks and a basket along with the books. The bookmarks will also slightly reduce my rainbow 🌈 stash of scraps. 🙂 (I can't start on my quilt top UFOs until I get the stacks of boxes of books out of the crafting room! 🤣🤣🤣)

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Woohoo!! You’re all caught up. I think there’s a video tomorrow night and then you’re safe until WiP It Wednesday. Books seem to multiply just like fabric scraps. Don’t turn off the light and close the door. That’s when they multiply 😉

    Thanks Robin! I have small left over specialty fabrics people choose for their masks and this will be a great project to use that up and give it to the people who picked that fabric. Great gift and I have a family of readers. I might try one with a stiffer interfacing to see if I like it.

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’re welcome. Great idea. I’d go with the stiffer interfacing. It’s fine as is but I think I’d like It a bit firmer.

    Hi Robin!🙋🏻‍♀ ❤Love these! ❤ I used to make loads of them when I first started sewing and had items in a local shop in the town I lived in. 👍🏻 They were one of my best sellers!👍🏻💜

      I’m not surprised they were popular. I’ve heard that from several people in the comments. It’s nice that they take little bits of fabric and time.

    Hi Robin! You've inspired me to make several and donate them to the Friends of my local library, or just leave them in the books that I am donating! Thanks Robin for this tutorial!!

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Carol. It would be so much fun to find them in a random book at the library. The kids would love them too. Maybe make a fabric bowl and put a bunch of corner bookmarks inside. Then It can side on the librarians desk.

    • @annataylor7226

      @@rsislandcrafts My husband was a librarian at a small town library for about 10 years before he retired and a volunteer at that library for about 5 years before that and about 5 years after he retired. He wasn't a grumpy librarian but he sometimes had to deal with grumpy or abusive patrons. Fortunately that was a very rare occurrence.

    I don't use interfacing on these. They are handy little things.

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’ll work the same with or without interfacing. It comes down to personal preference. If we do use interfacing it’s a great project to use up those smaller leftover bits of interfacing from other projects.

    Hi Robin another great video, I have made a lot of corner bookmarks with paper origami stile. I finally made a fabric postcard not as lovely as yours but it is a beginning, I also made an ATC which is cool.

      @rsislandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Robin, those are so cute. I bet they would sell at craft fairs. Have you made any in other sizes? I can see a whole rainbow 🌈 of these spread out on my table at my next craft fair. Thanks.

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bet they’d be great at a craft fair. Shoppers like to buy something small and low priced when they stop at a booth. This is the first time I’ve ever made corner bookmarks. They’d be easy to change the size. This was the size I found online everywhere but I think I’d like them a bit smaller.
