I love the difference between Kan and Scrapman in these videos. Kan gets all excited about the complicated crafting system and Scrapman is like “Ugh! WHY!?”
scrapman is just lazy u can especially see it in the yuzi videos where he just puts effort and scrapman is just like ...basic functionality and some protection ,never something good.And i bet hes waiting for yuzi to finish his polishing and doing nothing at the time.

Some early game advices/reminders: (no spoilers)
1. Raids don't trigger if you only plant 9 tomatoes/carrots/beets
2. The regular workbench has a tiny bit of storage in it (accessible by pressing "U" by default), not much, but enough to solve "inventory crisis" for a short while
3. The "cheapest" recipe for Metal 1 is the second one on the metalworking bench (it's similar to the scrap bench one, but uses less raw metal)
4. Raw Metal and Coal seem to have roughly the same spawn ratio
5. While it is a bit of a grind, it's a good idea to build at least a basic vehicle, as the locations of certain quest places are randomized and may turn out to be really far away
6. Wolves seem to spawn randomly (similar to bots in og survival), but they seem to be able to trash some of your equipment, even if you're not on the tile your base is on, so it's generally a good idea to place your base/valuable stuff, at least 7-8 blocks above the ground (cheapest way to do it is to attach a platform to Bill's house)
He figured out the nine crops thing wayy back in the nomad series, but it changed to 3 I think

About the Reab claw at 6:27, if a Woc is a cow, a Reab is probably a bear of some sort.
But a wolf isnt a flow for some reason?

In case you want to know what happened to the original compact computer, you used it to craft the sensor.
Scrapman!! The different benches are more efficient at certain recipes, you might be able to make X thing in the regular workbench, but it might be cheaper in the more specialized ones.
That game doesn't tell you this, but you can't build the entire wolf suit. You need the wolf head in order for wolves to ignore you when wearing the wolf clothes, which is obtained rarely from killing wolves as a drop.
I did a test in my game, where I removed the head while near a wolf, and it started to attack. As soon as I reequipped the head, it stopped attacking.
Been 3 years since survival came out and this is reminding me of those times, with the frequent videos and all. Love this mod!
Scrapman regarding the amounts of metal one crafted from the different recipes there is also a difference between the workstations so if you make the metal in the metalworking bench it will use less than with the workbench and the same applies to some other materials across all the different workbenches, and you should also make yourself a cooking bench where you can cook woc meat, the cooking bench can be made in the wood working bench btw.

Hey, just a little recomendation before you embark into the next adventure. Craft a couple of chests to free the inventory space, you won´t regret that. Also, the compact computer you had went into the crafting of the sensor 1 c;

And none of them remember how to do micro-farming. Although Kosmo figured it out after a while and then effed it up again. :P
i reccomend you make the smeltery as it has all the metal options with the best ratios possible... also you dont need to convert raw iron into scrap metal in the metalworking bench, theres 2 metal 1 options for a reason...
He adresses that already from 13:35 , and concludes that he would either need to spend more coal, or more raw metal, and considers coal, more important, thus going for the more scrap metal option

while the more complex crafting system might seem more tedious, i quite enjoy watching you piece together something step-by-step!
13:20 from the first moment you mentioned it, about the scrap workbench, its one of those craftsman benches which have small versions of certain things, specifically micro smelters, so the upgrade you are looking for is smelter to make the metals you need, and thats only from showing us the confusing array of workbenches twice by this point
Definitely work towards all the workbenches, each has its strengths and weaknesses, also stuff can get destroyed by random bulls and wolves, I spent my time building a metal 3 pole and built my base up in the air, I use a scrap seat to jump up into it.
I don't know why, but seeing the level of disappointment from the wolf getting the crops immediately gave me the urge to play this.
YESS!!!! I was worried for a couple days there that Scrapman had decided to not continue this series! So glad to see another episode returning!

The axt isn't only faster, it is also using less energy. ;) I think all this diversity and complexity of building makes it even more interesting in the long run.
Bill doesn't give you all the seeds initially, you must have scored some carrots seeds from a loot crate. As people have said, you can stick to 9 basic crops and avoid raids. For a fence you will need at least metal 2 or metal 3 to stop the raids breaking through. Upgrade the tools as soon as you can to make life easier, and the smelter for making metal blocks / glass is better than the benches.
Thanks for showing this amazing mod! I have downloaded it myself and enjoying scrap mechanic again until chapter 2 comes out.

Scrapman, remember , farming will trigger a raid if you have too many crops planted. Keep it small, and you'll have no problems other than farming taking a while :)

This is a stupid idea, but maybe you like the challenge:
Do a scrap mechanic playthrough, but without placing any *blocks.* You can only place components: wedges, pipes, the corrugated metal panels that you can rip off of the huts around the place, wheels, pistons, suspensions, bearings, and so on. You can craft blocks, but they'd be useless to you except as crafting ingredients. The only exception would be cardboard blocks, and only for the purpose of feeding glowbugs.
in case you havent seen my coment on the last vid if you set an auto clicker to 680 miliseconds you can use the pickaxe non stop or you can just press with a delay but its a bit harder to do it like that
edit: you should also make a rudamentary car its quite "fun" to make one with this mod
Theory: the wolves use the crops to lure animals into a trap to eat them, thats why they are trying to get to them. They do what birds do, they eat then regurgitate the crops so it can stick to walls.
Reab is bear backwards the same way that woc is cow

I rewatched the other crashlanders video and you had the compact computer in your inventory but then you fell down a rock at 21:51 and there was a cut . After that, it wasn‘t in your Inventory anymore and didn‘t appear anywhere in the video anymore.

Try not to work too hard grinding, maybe build a vehicle, but advancing the plot will give you more necessary supplies. Also dont forget this is nothing like survival! The plants and raids triggered some ptsd 😂
Tthe crafting system is a little overwhelming at first but I, at least, got used to it. I would understand if that would be a turnoff for some folks tho. It really seems like those new vacuum pipe pieces were created for a reason, and it was to make a massive assembly line for everything.. which I'm not looking forward to create lol
While there does seem to be ultimately more stuff to make, it is also obviously bloated with all the build components, that is needed to assemble the final stuff for most of the stuff, which increase the amount of recipes FAR more than the final product amount, AND also obfuscates the total cost of things, requiring almost a full on detective like work to find the full cost of stuff, and makes it just tedious to make

9 basic t1 crops don't trigger a raid. U can feed the corn directly to cows without putting them on the ground.

I would recommend you to craft a chest to free up your inventory before going to the new coordinates, I don't want to give you spoilers, but you will need space in your inventory

for better protection of the crops you can put horizontal pillars sticking out of the square, that way the wolves will be attacking one block at a time.
Well his issue was more the height, than the durability, they wolves only ever killed like 1-2 of his blocks, and he only barely had the materials for what he did
@@GummieI using blocks to build horizontal pillars is the best way to defend the crops with low resources.
@@zerrogamer4001But it's not really gonna help if the enemies can just walk over them, or there is not enough to surround all vulnerable sides (which in this case was all 4 sides)
if it has enough height it'll work well.@@GummieI

you got very lucky with the first raid! both kosmo and kan lost their entire harvest to the first raid.
try to stay below 10 crops (so 9 max) to NOT trigger a raid.

ima have to get the bois together for this at some point they gonna love it and hate the crafting
you can use raw metal to make metal block 1, there's 2 different recipes for it in the metalworking bench
scrapman you should build a vehicle and put stuff on it. Might be useful if you need to carry crates as well
Wolves destroy vehicle so easy, after 500h of vanilla i recommend frequent savefile backups

Based on the travel in this mod, a nomad style base vehicle may be recommended.

metal -> scrap is 10 to 5
scrap + coal -> metal1 is 15 + 5 -> 15 in terms of metal + coal is 30 + 5 -> 15
but you do have:
metal + coal -> metal1 which is 10 + 10 -> 15, well ok that it doubles the coal consumption but you're spending less materials, 20 instead of 35 and saving a lot of metal.

i like you play this mod, i dont like trailmakers videos that much anymore, waste of materials crafting ember, just go to burn forest and take tons of it

I have a cool idea for trailmakers multiplayer: hover bike race but with distance sensors that explode you if you get too close to something. 10 pwercores, 100 blocks

can you, yzuei kosmo and little corndogs do EMP soccer? Cars with EMPs so that you can stop the enemy from scoring. maybe with powercore limits that go up every round so that you get faster every round.
