Start by looking at your mother, Aunts and Uncles birth certificate It will name your grandparents. Ask as many questions as possible to your Aunts and Uncles. Birth certificates, death certificates , church records, property they may have owned and census records can all be found online at home good luck, if you need held hit me up.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Comment above is a great suggestion. Also, try to find a parent or grandparent on the 1950 Census then go every ten years backward to find the generations previous.
I was abandoned by my father but I knew his name and an aunts name. I looked in a baby book and found a few visitors names from birth. I was able to match up names from a Google search and found my gpa's obituary and found obits from other people and online profiles for other relatives. I have been able through that and census match ups. I have been able to trace some lines back to Egypt on 1 line. I found a list of 8 ancestors listed in the will of there former slave owner in VA. I found a picture of my 3x great grands. I NEVER thought I would very even find my grandparents names. But I did, obituaries are great because they tend to list parents, spouses and children sometimes more, locations.
OMG Nicka I think we may be related or connected in someway I came across this will in my research. I have ancestors that were documented in the will of Thomas Jeffersons cousin.
Nicka Smith my favorite Genealogist 🖤✊🏿

Great show...reaching out to the next generation of genealogists. Your ancestors are waiting for you to tell their stories.

Loved it! Wonderful!!
Sad thing is I don't know anything about my ppl past before my mom, aunts, and uncles. All the generations before that is a complete mystery to me.
