Hornady is paying a lot of influence to push this cartridge right now. Unfortunately Winchester's not doing the same thing for 6.8 Western. But I do believe the truth will come out eventually because the 6.8 Western achieves a lot of similar ballistics to 7prc in a shorter package.
@@MrAntuan25 regardless, the 7 PRC is a modern replacement for the 7 remmag. I do with the 6.8 had more attention. Seems everyone is talking about it but no one is on board.
The 6.8 Western is definitely a great cartridge! We'll try and do a similar episode on rifles chambered in 6.8 Western... There just aren't as many options to pick from.
I'd pick the 307, don't want a clip and steel receiver is a must. I have a Springfield redline and love it also. The vertical grip is awesome, just helps me keep cross hairs where they need to be when it counts. Put the 307 stock on the Springfield and I'd change my mind. Great content by the way.
I own an identical seekins and love it. I would also like to try one of the 307 alpine’s but doubt I’d pick another 7prc. Nothing wrong with it but the single best all around cartridge has got to still be the 300wm.
I REALLY wanted a 7 PRC for a backcountry rifle but I could not find one that was light weight and a good price. I found a Weatherby Backcountry 2.0 Ti on clearance in 6.5 CM. Sub 5 pounds.
If you can please try to review a scope by German Precision Optics (GPO). They have literally some of the nicest glass I’ve looked through for a great price. Athlon is another nice scope for a great price that it would be nice to see a review on.
I haven't used any of their glass, but the binos that my oldest son, William, are 10x32s made by GPO. They do have great glass and they're super nice optics!
I’d rather have the seekens havoc ph2 msrp $1895 26 inch 416 stainless barrel. At 7.2 pounds it’s a more appropriate weight for the recoil 7 prc generates. The thicker fluted barrel allows for more stability and less heat stringing.
@ I’m a young old fashioned person I like long barrels. Suppressors aren’t legal in NY so I’d rather the muzzle be as far away as possible. But for suppressor friendly states, I get it.
Springfield would really like for us to forget that they supported gun control legislation in their own state. Not me Springfield!! I won’t own them, won’t sell them, won’t work on them if they come in to my shop. It’s really too bad because after they did that and their business tanked, they started putting out some pretty decent stuff to get people buying their products again. Maybe I’m hard headed but I’m out. Also won’t drink Bud Light. Even if they do put tractors on the commercials to make us think they’ve learned their lesson.
It's all just marketing hype.. 7stw, 7 rum, 7wsm, .721 firebird, 280ai. 28 nosler. Next on the chopping block in 5 years 7 prc. 7 rem mag will be here long after the fads are gone.. 😂😂😂
Great video bud, but you gotta fix the mic. Your audio is pretty low.
That boundary looks real good!
Gotta say, I'm a little sad we're still talking about 7prc instead of 6.8 Western.... But great content as always sir!

@ManjaroBlack I can only speak for myself, as of recently I have invested in it,hopefully i can get my 6.8 western model 70 sighted in by next week.
@BackcountryHuntingPodcast definitely looking forward to more 6.8 content.
Enjoyed the video and like you, I will stick with my .280AI’s. 700 yard shots are a little above my pay grade. 3 really great looking rifles!

Been hunting for over 45 years in 18 states (and counting). Have yet to need anything other than my .270.
Same here! But if I were to get a new rifle I’d probably get a 6.5 PRC.
@@ManjaroBlackcheck the 6.8 Western!
Sir I think you misspelled .30-06
Good for you
Seekins detachable mag was designed to handle longer coal handloads.

I'm in Canada so sadly no suppressors allowed. So I'll take the one with the 24" barrel please. . .
Same as here in Hawaii…😢 Heck, I’ll take a 26” barrel if I could and get that extra speed and energy. 🤙🏼

I was looking at their binoculars. Would you say they are a good buy?
Seekins stock is a space aged elesto polymer material of the Tupperware family....
Hope all is well with you n yours ..
Let’s be clear… the 7 PRC is a 7MM Rem Mag round without the belt.
Sorta. If you don’t care about the rest of the details.

Also at buds guns shop
6.8 western all day over 7prc!
Pretty sure none of them beat my borden 7prc rifle !!!
6.8 Western > 7 PRC
Best 7 prc is a 300wsm
