Just dropping in to say, I had a blast putting this guide together! I might end up making a more in-depth and comprehensive beginners guide later on once I have had some time to settle in to War Within. What other kinds of guides would everyone like to see?
Banger vid! Definitely agree about changing your movement settings ASAP. It makes leagues of difference in being able to quickly strafe out of a mechanic versus trying to backpedal out of it at reduced speed. Since I have A, S, and D unbound for movement, I use those buttons for additional keybinds!
Thanks! My experience and performance playing the game immediately improved after rebinding the movement keys for sure. The only reason I still keep S for moving backwards is because I am usually tanking so it is nice to be able to move without turning my back to enemies and getting melted lol.
Very well made video!! I started playing WoW for the very first time yesterday, and this video has ALREADY helped a TON.
Nice! I'm glad it has been helpful for you. I wanted to make sure the guide wasn't too in-depth so that newer players don't feel overwhelmed. Welcome to WoW👍
Back in wotlk i went from clicking to key binding bc of the naga, it changed how i played pc games. So worth it.
Was definitely a game-changer for me too. I use my mmo mouse for video editing as well, and it has sped up my process and productivity as much as it has my rotation in WoW 😅
Thanks for the video, shared to some friends who’ve expressed interest in WoW but never made the leap. I hope you can be the catalyst to get them to try it!
That's actually the reason I made the video lol. I have a couple friends I am trying to convince to join me too, so hopefully it helps us both out in that regard.
I'm that guy that returned and used my character boost on a class I didn't like. Don't be that guy...
Also it's kinda overwhelming jumping to max level if you aren't somewhat familiar with the class. Leveling up is better for learning the class, and it really doesn't take that long to level a character to max level these days!
@nzwj I did the exact same thing 😆 I only hope everyone else can learn from our mistakes. I like leveling a character to learn them because you get to learn the abilities and talents over time as you level instead of having a full spellbook to learn all at once.
I am brand new to wow played ffxiv for 10 years so i decided to go with an evoker healer I love it. Great guide. It's helped a lot.
@noahwagoner7650 oh that's awesome, preservation evoker is a fun choice! Welcome to warcraft!
I'm new to wow, but in my opinion a mouse with tons of buttons is not neccesary, I just binded keys to be keys near WASD and keys near WASD + shift. I'm using a lot of abilities and never had any problems :3 Is very comfortable imo.
@laurino. oh forsure, it really is down to personal preference, and it is not a requirement at all to enjoy the game. I had a much better experience when I started using one as a beginner and that's why I recommend it. The longer I have played, I actually have bound much more to keys, so I rely less on the extra mouse buttons. But they are still nice to have. Thanks for the perspective
Also been an on and off player since 05, mostly on, and I'm rolling my first mage, I have tanked since BC and never really tried a caster until I played a warlock and now i wanna play a mage
Nice, most of my experience has been with prot pally tanking with the rest of the What'sMyRole? crew. I am gonna keep tanking, but I want to give arcane mage a shot in war within
What are some obscure things to do at max level?
Something like birdwatcher or /hug critters.
I enjoy taking in the scenery and grabbing screenshots or recording videos of cool areas I find. It would be cool if they could implement a pokedex-like system where you could document the wildlife in a zone to fill a journal for some sort of achievement or something.
Who thinks and no hate but it looked a lil like a Mr beast thumbnail
Also
FOR THE HORSE
where i never used a gaming mouse, i tried it and i find it harder to play that way than just using the keyboard lmfao, set in my ways i guess
Nothing wrong with that lol. That particular piece of advice is more aimed at the newer players, but a regular mouse works just fine with some solid keybinds
Is rep account-wide yet?
@bluemethod05 I think dragonflight rep is supposed to be mostly account-wide now.
"Mouses"
Its 2024, try a controller.
I have not yet tried WoW with a controller lol, but I have been thinking about picking up a Lenovo Legion Go. Apparently it plays pretty well
Just dropping by to say there are no new players
Not sure how often WoW gets new players, but there will always be returning players and in some cases they haven't played in so long that they may as well be new players
